An Example of a situation when your emotional intelligence and your mood made a difference in a business situation or personal life for the better or worse. Would it have had a different outcome if you reacted differently good or bad.
Suppose you are running a very small business that exports all of its products to Europe, and 100% of your revenue comes from Euros. You have a family to support and a drop in the value of the Euro could be devastating to your personal financial situation. What methods do you think would be best to manage this risk under your circumstances? Refer to at least one of the required readings from the background materials in your answer. Consider a large multinational consumer product company with operations in all major advanced and emerging economies. Now suppose the value of Indonesian and South African currencies drops dramatically and the value of the Chinese RMB increases dramatically. What kind of strategic changes in marketing and/or location of production facilities do you think this company should take given these new exchange rates? Explain your reasoning, and make references to Avadhani (2010) and Shackman (2015) in your answer. Suppose you are a financial manager stationed in a foreign country, and your boss at headquarters in New York asks you to make a prediction about the future exchange rates in the country you are currently in. You see that the economy in the country you are in has started to grow more rapidly with a lot of new foreign investment. You also see that prices are much lower in this country than they are back in the U.S. For example, you see that the price of a Big Mac at McDonalds is half of what it costs you at home. Would you tell your boss that you expect the value of the currency in this country will increase or decrease? Explain your reasoning, and make references to Agarwal (2009) in your answer.
Assignment: Create a future scenario for your industry, a basic Science Fiction Prototype (story, illustration or video)
Here as some helping guidelines, although you don't necessarily have to follow these steps. It is just an example. You set your own guidelines and process.
STEP 1. Build the World
Pick a person, place, date and industry. A good starting point is to pick a date that is far enough out that it is just on the other side of plausibility. You can get yourself almost 90% of the way there from current science “fact,” but you must push yourself further into “fiction.” Now that you have your person, place, time and industry, you’ve begun building your science fiction world.
STEP 2. Insert Technology Inflection Point
Now you need to figure the plot/conflict of your story. Another good starting point is to choose a piece of technology that you are worried or excited about—something that you want to explore—that brings up the problem, the inflection point. Something happens that substantiates worry or concern.
STEP 3. Explore the Ramifications
What are the ramifications? You have a person and a place; they must have a family, a place to live. They also must operate in that industry. Something must have happened that caused problems. What happens to them? What happens to where they live? What happens to their family? What happens to the societal structure? Legally, ethically, etc. Begin to experiment and really prototype what happened.
STEP 4. Insert Human Inflection Point
Within those ramifications, something changes. It is usually within the main character(s); they adapt, they make a decision, they change as a part of the ramifications from the first inflection point.
STEP 5. Reveal What We Learned
In the final section of the story, we begin to explore how that character or how the world has changed. What did we learn from this journey? In science fiction prototyping, they’ve changed due to how they react or interact with the science and the technologies presented within the story and within that industry.
Once again, this is only an example of the steps you can follow. It is not meant in any way to limit your imagination. Be creative, and tell us how you imagine your world and industry will be in the future. Most importantly, be prepared to talk about the process you have followed to get there.
You can submit a 1-page story, a story board, or any fun way you think best represents your world.
"After conducting a review of the academic literature concerning Total Quality Management answer the following question:
Why might some major organisations, who were world leaders in adopting TQM, now be moving their organisational focus and investment away from TQM and other formal quality frameworks? "
Essentially look at the relevant textbooks/studies/suitable online articles and give general background on TQM; its origins, main creators, concepts, examples of companies that implemented TQM. No more than one page it's not too in depth but needs citations to back up statements. Don't make general statements they have to be substantiated. Not a critical review.
After describe why TQM may be becoming less relevant in modern business. Are former proponents finding more cost-effective frameworks? Companies that are designing there own? Real examples backed up by evidence. Can't be general. Not a large piece of work but concise and still detailed. Honours degree level.
References and in-text citations in APA 6th essential. I will supply some sources of what TQM is as well as the marking criteria.
Of the "seven myths of risk", which do you believe is the most detrimental to performing a realistic risk analysis? Why?
2. If a risk assessment is based upon faulty premises and a destructive event occurs that could have been prevented had the premises been correct, who should bear the responsibility? How can the damaged party be made whole—or should it?
Barclays Bank recently announced that it is severing ties in Africa and will no longer be a player in that region. Please discuss the decision and its strategic implications.
Choose any one of the following and discuss with examples and your own opinions. a.What are at least the two important relationships of an inventory system (EOQ) you need to recognize in order to apply the best model? OR b. Derive and give an example as well as explain the total cost expression for the EOQ model
For an airline to successfully implement any of Porter’s generic competitive strategies it must, as part of the strategy, develop its brand. Explain how, giving examples, how an airline can develop a brand and use that brand to compete against other airlines in the marketplace
In completing this activity, you will demonstrate the ability to evaluate a leadership style and estimate its possible consequences.
There are many theories of leadership. Consider the path-goal theory and Vroom's contingency theory. (You will have to do some additional research.) Leaders must continually think of their central purposes as leaders: to define goals (develop a vision, clarify ways to get there), to look for obstacles that may exist, and to provide support and encouragement for achievement of goals (celebrating small wins, mentoring). In the path-goal theory, the greater responsibility is on the leader; there is not much left to the follower.

Debate this kind of leadership and respond to the following: Might this style of leadership be counterproductive over time? Why/Why not? Be certain to integrate the readings and research from the online library to support your opinions. You must cite your sources in text and include multiple references in addition to the textbook for your initial response and your replies.
Post your primary response. Be sure to review your writing for grammar and spelling before posting.
Read any postings already provided by your instructor or fellow students.
Remember to read the feedback to your own major postings and reply to it throughout the module.
Evaluation criteria
Review the SBT Discussion Rubric located in the "Start Here" section of the course for more information on grading criteria. Keep the following points in mind: Effect of the specified leadership style on followers is plausible and logically argued. The comparison of leadership styles is based on important attributes and supported by research
