Rhetorical Civilization Discussion Question

Preachers and evangelicals of the modern day are usually centered on certain evangelical views. Those views might be from a renowned evangelist who had dominated in the past. Through doing so, they are therefore able to conduct their work easily simply because they have a pillar whereby they can be able to stand on, and also the pillar can be able to guide them as they continue with their missions of preaching and spreading the word of God (Vessey & Reid, 2012). In addition, in order for an evangelist or a preacher to be able to grow his or her own church, he or she will need to have a pillar which consequently acts as a map in leading them as they preach. Most of the believers also tend to follow a preacher who focuses on the teachings of certain renowned evangelists, thus making them to fully believe whatever the preacher preaches. ‘

According to my point of view, I think both preachers and evangelists can gain insight into their mission through reading Augustine. This is consequently because most of the preachers tend to rely on the teachings of the prominent evangelists, who act as their mentors, thus making them to be able to fully understand how to pass the message of the lord (Vessey & Reid, 2012). Furthermore, modern day evangelists will also be able to attract huge followers, through following the teachings of Augustine, and thus being able to fully spread the gospel of the lord. In addition, due to different Christian denominations all over the world, it would be better for an evangelist to follow the teachings of Augustine who started his own denomination, thus understanding how one can be able to spread the gospel without depending on other denominations.
