The goals of these papers are two-fold. On one hand, reflection should provide you the opportunity to digest and process the information we have reviewed together and the materials you have processed on your own.  It should provide you the opportunity to identify what thoughts/information had significant impact on you, and allow you to analyze why?  

However, on the other hand, your refection can also speak to what you have learned, what has changed in you and how your reflection (what is you) has changed from your experiences in class.  The hope is that these reflective papers will demonstrate your progress towards interviewing competence. You may include cultural insights, linkages to other materials, life experiences, etc. 

Basic Rules:  I expect at minimum 600 words.  Doubled spaced please!  When quoting, referencing, or paraphrasing other sources (such as the text), students must include citations and references following APA.  You will be graded on the following:

•    Thoughtfulness, 50% -- taking the assignment seriously and providing real and thoughtful reflection will account for 50% of your grade.  This is easy to detect in a paper.
•    Applicability to Subject, 30%-- reflection is helpful in any subject but make sure this reflection paper is centered on our class topic and the topics that we have just previously reviewed.  
•    Your product, 20%-- Your paper is a physical representation of you.  Thus, if it is riddled with typos, fluff and is incoherent it is reflective of the seriousness you have decided to give this assignment.
