Personal Statement Instructions and Prompt
A personal statement is a required part of the teaching credential program application. We give careful consideration to the content of your personal statement and use your statement as evidence of your ability to express your ideas in a clear and engaging manner. All applicants MUST communicate their experiences in the statement of purpose and resume.

Please compose a statement focused on your recent experiences working with groups of children or youth in a formal, organized setting in the US. Please be sure to include:
Relevant background information about the context and the specific work you did there;
Description of the aspects of the experience you found most engaging and/or meaningful;
Thoughtful discussion of the impact of this experience on your personal and professional learning goals and on your desire to enter SCU’s MATTC program;
Commitment to Social Justice, Multiculturalism and Diversity;respond to all parts of the prompt.
