a discussion post with at least 2 paragraphs discussing your Facebook posting habits and usage. How's your privacy? Attach your video or presentation referenced
1. Sign up for the Facebook account mentioned earlier, if you don't have one. Follow some pages and request some friends. Then, start to pay attention to the content that appears in your feed. Pay attention to what you get and think about whether or not it feels customized to you. Do you feel like the content has identified with you and what you like/feel?
THIS NEXT VIDEO MIGHT BE THE MOST IMPORTANT COMPONENT TO THIS COURSE. Watch this - https://www.ted.com/talks/eli_pariser_beware_online_filter_bubbles?language=en
Consider that video in your work, then think about how filter bubbles will be influenced by Facebook's very recent change with its "Like" button - http://www.wired.com/2016/02/advertisers-feel-facebooks-new-reactions-%F0%9F%98%8D/
The "challenge" of this course is to think about your privacy and your behavior is influenced. The challenge is self-reflection.
Take a look at what you're receiving. How are the new implementations affecting your Facebook behavior and content retrieval?
2. Create a an animated 1-minute movie (http://www.powtoon.com/) or 10-slide presentation (https://prezi.com/) about your Facebook presence. Talk about your typical behavior. Why do you use it? What do you post? What kind of content to you create, or repost? What do you do to make it custom? What do you/don't you do to protect your privacy? How are you connecting to others on Facebook? What did you notice in your feed during the week? What do people post about/talk about, etc? What is something you'd like to improve on in Facebook?
Include in this presentation at least 5 references to the content presented throughout this lesson and relate it your Facebook behavior and experiences.
When you're creating this, go ahead and think about next week's lesson by reading and viewing these:
