Analyze a song (from any musical genre) by establishing connections between the song’s lyrics and relevant sociological concepts, terms, or theories. Specifically, analyze how and why the lyrics directly illustrate the sociological concepts, terms, or theories you choose. In your paper define and explain the illustrated sociological concepts because that will help you correctly apply them. Also, include brief ‘supporting’ quotes from the lyrics to support your assertions. You will not be graded on the number of concepts or terms you hear illustrated but how well you establish the connection between the song and the concept. Also include in your paper, any explicit or implicit messages about our social lives contained in the song, how that message(s) could socialize us, and how we could be influenced or impacted by the lyrics in the song. You must also turn in the lyrics to your song. Each paper must be 2-4 pages (not including the cover page or lyrics) be typed in 12 point Times New Roman font with 1 in margins, double-spaced. Please note that you must abide by this page limitation. It will force you to synthesize your reflections and be succinct in your writing. Any papers not at least 2 FULL pages will be given an automatic zero. Only 1 document should be uploaded. Do NOT upload separate documents for your paper and song lyrics.
