Your assignment is to analyze a visual work containing at least one image. The work may be a photograph or series of photographs; a painting, famous or otherwise; an ad; or a sculpture, etc.

Describe the work in such a way that readers will be able to visualize it even if they haven’t seen it. You’ll need to pick out the dominant details in the work of art, rank them in order of importance, and analyze their relationship with one another, synthesizing them in order to determine the overall purpose or meaning of the work. Most will have emotional content to analyze. Some works may have cultural or historical significance; in this case, you’ll want to address that. Also think of how the title or any text contributes to the meaning of the work.

Include a thesis, making a claim about the significance of the ad/artwork, and support it with specific examples, which will be details from the work itself. I will also be looking for logical organization and for the paper to be free of spelling and grammatical errors. You are not required to use outside sources. However, if you do, make sure you document them, using MLA or APA style. Good luck
