Paper instructions:

TV Paper Topics – Paper #1

1. Write about one issue/concept in three different shows of your choice.  How does each show approach that is-sue?  What are the underlying messages about it that each program disapproves of or promotes?  What does each say about our culture? Write this paper about some-thing that matters, such as: advertising, class, Americani-zation, children’s television, etc. You know, the shit we’ve been talking about for a month.

2. Do the same thing as #1, but with one show and multi-ple issues. 

That’s all you get from me. You always have the option to write about anything TV related, but keep in mind, it needs to be approved by me and have an argumentative point that you can thoroughly support. 

I place far more value on original, critical thought than pic-ture perfect grammar and usage. The best paper is the one that brings something new and interesting to the table. Writing is supposed to be a liberating process, not one that makes you want to punch.
