The objective of this discussion forum is for you to consider the application of this week's course objectives to your career experiences and/or to current events. The course objectives this week are, "Discuss the influence of the institutional structure on the form and content of financial statements and describe how financial data are assembled and integrated onto an articulated set of financial statements" and "Assess the cost of capital and marginal cost of capital and their implications for capital budgeting". Find new related examples/experiences and share how they integrate.
Applied Objective Online Forums: This is worth 40% of your grade. There will be ten discussion forums, with due dates for participation shown in the course schedule (section X of this syllabus). The objective of these discussion forums is for you to consider the applications of the week’s course objective to your career experiences and/or to current events. Your initial posting will be 2-4 paragraphs in length and you are to respond meaningfully to at least two other postings per forum. Please post your initial comments to each forum as early as possible to facilitate meaningful discussion among participants. Initial postings and responses should both demonstrate your understanding of the material and advance your fellow students’ understanding of the material.
