Objective: Gain an appreciation for typical challenges and obstacles encountered by project managers. 

Introduction: Product development is often based on the integrated design of products and their manufacturing and support processes. This presents challenges as organizations have grown with sophisticated technology dispersed around the world. Product development teams in particular represents an opportunity to re-organize personnel involved in product development to facilitate informal communication, sharing of requirements, constraints and ideas early in the product development cycle. The outcome of product development teams delivers parallel design early in the process with consideration of the constraints and factors that impact the successful development of competitive products.. 

  

Deliverables: 

The post project for this lesson is required to be a minimum of 750 words that clearly demonstrate your understanding of the activity. Post project essays should have a clear introduction, thesis statement and conclusion, written in APA format (APAstyle.org). A minimum of three sources, at least two from the lesson, must be cited in-text and in the Reference list.

Step 2: Address the following  

Write an introductory paragraph that provides an overview of teamwork challenges and how industry trends relate to product development and the need for teamwork.    

  

Within the body of your paper, you will describe as the challenges and benefits of product development and learning in project teams. Be sure to address the following:  

Describe the two related trends that have increased the need for teamwork in new product development (NPD).  

Explain how continued growth in the use of teams plays a critical role in facilitating organizational learning.  

Explain how the use of new product development (NPD) promotes both internal and external organizational success.  

Explain how the use of teams in NPD enables and benefits the integration of expertise and information across the organization.  

List and describe the five primary challenges to teamwork in NPD
