Questions we Can Help you to Answer
Paper Instructions:
Introduction: The concept of intelligence is difficult to define since it can be explored from many different viewpoints. For example, does a high test score mean that you are intelligent? Are you intelligent if you can break down and reconstruct a car engine? Psychologist Howard Gardner proposed that there are nine types of intelligence that can be demonstrated in many ways, such as the ability to compose or perform music (musical intelligence) or the ability to understand the motivation behind another person’s behavior (interpersonal intelligence).
For this assignment, please complete the following steps:
Part 1
Learn more about different theories of intelligence, including Gardner’s Theory of Multiple Intelligences, by watching the MyPsychLab video at the following link: https://visual.pearsoncmg.com/mypsychlab/index.php?clipId=63#tab1
Next, take the informal Multiple Intelligences assessment athttp://www.literacynet.org/mi/assessment/findyourstrengths.html. To get accurate results, it’s important that you answer the questions honestly and consider your overall preferences (not just how you feel today).
Once you have answered all of the questions (there are 56), click on “Find my strengths!” to see your results. The assessment will identify your top three intelligences based on your answers.
Further explore your top intelligences using the assessment website, your textbook or by searching the internet.
Part 2
Thoroughly discuss the following questions:
What did the assessment identify as your top three intelligences?
Do you agree with the assessment? Why or why not?
One criticism of Gardner’s theory is that he classifies talents as types of intelligence. Critics might say that a talented factory worker is not necessarily smart. How would you reply to this criticism?
Important guidelines to follow:
This discussion is meant to reflect your personal opinions, not textbook language or theories. These questions are meant to stimulate your thinking. Since the Discussion Board is viewable by others, please do not share thoughts that you would not want others to know.
For this discussion, post one thread in which you answer the following questions. You are expected to write full paragraphs and give specific examples as part of your answers. A short 2-3 sentence answer is NOT sufficient to earn full credit. A substantial response should be at least 4-5 complete sentences. You must make your initial response within 3 days of the module’s opening date for full credit.
Then reply to at least 3 other students' Threads. Write 3-4 sentences or more in each reply explaining your thoughts. Be sure to post replies on two different days.
Use academic sources (other than your textbook) to help you develop your own approach to psychology. Use APA style to reference your source(s) at the end of your submission.
