The project will analyze the financial statements of Abercrombie & Fitch and Gap Inc., listed in American stock exchange. The analysis will examine various aspects of the two companies and make comparisons between them over a period of three years.  

Comments on the results (ratio analysis found on next page) are necessary.  You are going to assess the financial situation and  performance of the two companies and compare them.  Most of the information is available on financial websites, like marketwatch.com, finance.yahoo etc.  You may also find information from the annual reports of the two companies.  All information is available for free. 

For the requirements below, you should present your results in tables or charts and make comments.

1.    Introductory comments of the two companies, the sector and the competition.
2.    The share market price in the stock exchange for the two companies and the rate of change from year to year (separate for each company) for ten years. Calculate the annual average increase for the prices of the two companies.
3.    Comparison of the trend of the share market prices between the two companies along with the relevant stock market index (Nasdaq or S&P 500) (all in one graph or table), also for ten years
4.    Revenues for three years for the three years and rate of change from year to year.
5.    Return on equity for three years
6.    Liquidity ratio for three years
7.    Debt ratio for three years
8.    Interest coverage ratio, (net income / interest expense), for three years
9.    Price earnings ratio, three years
10.    Dividend per share and dividend yield for three years (one table or bar chart)

The answers should be brief and to the point and should not exceed 3,000 in total.
The answer should follow the ratio calculations table that can be found in the next page.
