Module 3 - SLP
ETHICS AND LAWS IN HOMELAND SECURITY
The subject for this SLP 3 assignment will center around a domestic terrorist group releasing a deadly biological agent that is killing American citizens.

SLP Assignment
An unknown terrorist group has released a previously unidentified biological agent (designated by the Centers for Disease Control as “BX-123”) on the Mall in Washington, D.C., resulting in the infection of hundreds of persons; likely, hundreds more have not yet been unidentified. The release and spread of BX-123 has led to dozens of deaths within days and hundreds of hospitalizations for seriously and critically ill victims. Numerous terrorist groups have claimed responsibility; however, none of these claims have yet been verified.

You are a newly hired Intelligence Analyst with the Department of Homeland Security, following your supervisor to the FBI building. You have to take careful notes pertaining to the release of a biological agent on the Mall in Washington, D.C. Your introduction in your notebook will cover the following:

What does FEMA’s National Response Framework say about Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear, and Explosives (CBRNE) responses?
Who are the first responders to a CBRNE attack? What is HAZMAT?
How is the FBI involved?
What precautions must you take to enter a contaminated area?
