I have chosen the primary source paper which is  The Code of Hammurabi.

Hammurabi should be considered the author, and you will find some helpful information about him in the ancient Mesopotamia lecture. You should also be thinking about his religious and political preconceptions, and be prepared to say something about them. For the context in ancient Mesopotamia, the Mesopotamia lecture - again - will provide sufficient information. Regarding impact, thinking about the impact of the code back then and now should not be too difficult. If you have any questions while writing, or preparing, please let me know.
