Yanomamo culture

  • Yanomamo culture
  • According to the Yanomamo culture, various situations depicted the same characteristics in the game. One of the characteristic that everyone could depict is that both the two teams consisted of people of the same age. The two teams could depict that they were comprised of people that performed the same obligations in their daily life. One of the Yanomamo culture situation depicts that they most of the groups are divided according to their age. Some of the young men do weapon making while others perform various obligations like tree felling for gardening. The other role that is exclusively for men and involved in the Yanomamo cultural activities is hunting. Both of the two teams could depict that they were playing according to the role they played in their daily operations. For example, most of the players in the New York Jet teams perform the same obligations while they are not playing. The other team that is, New England Patriots also had players who were holding the same obligations in their daily life (Nanda & Richard 39).
  •                  The other cultural situation according to the Yanomamo that depict similarities between both of the two teams is gender. According to the Yanomamo culture, most of the responsibilities tend to be divided according to the gender role that various groups play in the society. This means that men and boys perform various obligations that women and girls cannot manage to do. For example, most of the men have the obligation of getting wild resources through activities like hunting in order to provide other members of the family with food. Women have the obligation of playing a major role in farming activities (Nanda & Richard 182). Most the land in their region is good for horticultural farming and therefore most of the time, members of the society manage plant banana, which comprises the highest percentage of their diet. Comparing the gender issue on both of the two teams that were playing is that only same sex players could be allowed to play during the same time. According to the rules set by the football organization, only same sex people could play any of the international game. However, they may play for fun although in very rare cases.
  •             The two teams also depict to have various contrast in their activities compared with Yanomamo culture. The Yanomamo cultural community tends to have difficulties in making peace with other neighboring communities. While making peace, with the rest of the community, this group requires threat and use of force. Most of the headmen in the society have characteristics of being fierce. The advantage that the community could withhold all the time is that they were always winners even if they try to cause violence with other neighboring community. This is could be depicted in the game of the two teams. One of the two teams was arrogant while the other one was playing peacefully. Most of the cards were given to one of the teams that depicted their level of discipline. At some point of the game, some of the fans from one of the teams were already causing violence by throwing objects to the fans that came from the other team. They demonstrated at very decision made by the coach. This is one of the situations that depict there was contrast between the two teams (Nanda & Richard 26).
