Paper Instructions:

This paper will consist of an analysis of an article by Professor Kevin C. Motl which was delivered at the Mid-America Conference in 2007.  Read the article,  "Mary Kate Hunter:  Small Town Texas Suffragist," by clicking here.

Your assignment is to analyze (not summarize) the article.  You need no source besides the article, so you do not need to either footnote or cite the article in a bibliography.  Your paper should be about the article itself, not the topic of the article.  When writing your article, please follow the instructions below:

In the first paragraph of the article, identify Motl's thesis. This is the main point that Motl intends to make in his article, the proposition he intends to prove.
In the body or main part of your paper, explain how Motl substantiates his thesis. What evidence or information does he provide to show that his thesis is accurate? Explain the evidence that the author provides in the next several paragraphs of your paper in your own words

Evaluate the article. Did Motl prove his point to your satisfaction? Did he provide adequate evidence to substantiate his thesis?

Please do not use long quotations in your paper.  Please write your paper in Microsoft Word.  If you do not do so, I will not be able to open your paper and grade it.  You may download Microsoft Office 2007 free from the TCC Student Website.  Please do so if you do not have Microsoft Word.  Your paper will not be accepted in ANY OTHER format.
