Loss of the sense of taste

Questions and Topics We Can Help You To Answer:
Paper Instructions:

If you were forced to choose one of your 5 senses (smell, sight, touch, taste or hearing) to give up and live without, which would you choose? Why would you choose that sense and not one of the others? What would giving up that sense mean for your every day life? What would giving up that sense mean for your ability to survive in the wild (if you had to)? Lastly, what specific physical structures either in the sense organ itself, the pathway to the brain or the brain could be damaged that would result in the sense you picked not functioning? Make sure to answer all of these questions for full credit. And also remember to show me that you have thought critically about this topic.

I would like to add (If I had to choose to give up one of my senses, it would taste. I feel as if the other senses are necessary for survival. With having a sense of smell, you can detect the smell of smoke or gas. The sight I feel is essential. As someone whose eyesight is not the greatest, I think that being able to see that my children are okay and know where they are and read is also very important. As for touch and hearing, I could not live without these two senses because I need to give my children hugs and hear their voices. I would miss hearing the ‘I love you, mommy”. Plus, I would need to listen to signs of danger) somehow in my paper as they are of importance to me. You are welcome to revise or edit as you see fit. Needs to also have one or two references for the last question.
