Argue against the continued use of plastic packaging

The article reviews the value of rigid plastics for different brands and the challenges if face. The discussion includes rigid plastic properties such as its weight and why there has been a growth on plastic challenging. “Biodegradable plastics could be part of the solution” p.11 (Clarke, 2015).

The article talks about biodegradable polymers and the reason as to why they are gaining popularity and the potential threats they have on the environment. The paper presents information regarding the possible health effects and the problems that arise due to the use of plastics. It also includes the children Sippy cups or the plastic cups and why they should not be used. The paper aims at understanding why some ethical behavior fail to push in. it tries to understand why there is norm in the use of “bags for life” p. 87 (Yeow & tucker, 2014) that are recyclable in order to save the environment. It examines contextual barriers that affect consumers and why there is ethical change. The article explains why the use of plastic bags is a war that will take some time to end.

The main aim of this paper is to present sustainable development on plastic wastes that are as a result of plastic packaging.  The article is very useful as it advocates for recycling and safe disposal of the plastic bags “sustainable development will be achieved through proper waste treatment and disposal” p. 211( Fether & Tirdea, 2015).
