Collaboration

 After watching the videos, the point that has stuck out is collaborative learning. The latter is the most important lesson I have learned from this videos and the main point is that collaborative learning is important as it allows the students and teachers to share knowledge, set specific goals together and explore different perspectives in finding solutions. 

 These videos are helpful and I agree with the University of Colorado Boulder that through group work, students develop skills, increase performance and recognize their strengths and weaknesses. When students are involved in a project, they develop social skills, engage in learning, gain confidence and build trust.

 I agree with Dr. Wagner that "Isolation is the enemy of improvement". This is because, isolation may cause psychological distress, health problems and lack of social support. This means that students will not have the opportunity to ask questions, negotiate, develop social skills and gain confidence. In addition, there will be no development nor improvement and the student will end up performing poorly. Today, many companies encourage teamwork where workers share knowledge and solve issues. If the student does not engage in collaborative learning, then he or she will experience a hard time due to lack of teamwork skills.

            So far I have confirmed that collaboration helps gain problem-solving skills and interpersonal relationships. I think collaboration will play a role in my future career in that the field of computer science requires communication and collaboration. The field of computer science involves many activities such as post-development activities, implementing a software system, maintenance and more. All these activities require good communication in order to achieve the desired results. Thus, the collaboration will help in solving problems, sharing knowledge, improve the experience, gain professional development and perform duties effectively. 

In my earlier education, collaboration was encouraged and I can say instructors taught us to cultivate creativity.  The latter was achieved through active collaboration where students gained learning experience, discussed views and opinions and used critical thinking before arriving into the conclusion.

I have a positive attitude toward collaboration since it is the only way that students can recognize their strengths and weaknesses. I support collaboration since it helps students develop interpersonal skills and become important people in future. This positive attitude stems from my experience or rather my earlier education where I collaborated with students and teachers to be where I am today. Through collaboration, I was in a position to improve my weakness, view things from different perspectives, and accept diversity and more important think critically.

 When working with others, I would like to promote collaboration. I intend to do this by using technology such as collaboration apps and also lead by example so that the workmates can imitate the behaviors. I would also foster friendships and encourage participatory decision-making so that we can have a common goal. These attributes reflect the real me inside the place of work and in the external world since everywhere collaboration is the best strategy to succeed in life.
