Reflection Writing Prompt

In the reflection essays, I am inviting you to first read the materials for the class thoroughly. You will then “reflect” back upon the materials by connecting the core concepts from the readings to a news item, scientific website, or blog items related to the topic of the day. Below please find a suggested structure to follow:
Briefly introduce the topic (Landforms, or climate change, or geographies of sexualities). Consider this portion your opportunity to define, explain, and describe the topic and how it is related to your blog item or news piece.
Briefly describe the key findings or the arguments of the news piece.
Make connections between the topics of the day (find at least two relevant concepts, physical processes, or definitions) and the news-item. In this portion you are making connections, applying the concepts form the reading to assess, give your own opinion on the news item. Such as: According to the National Geographic the water moisture level in Hawaii has been changing since the 1950’s. The water and atmospheric moisture level (a concept from the slides) is related to rising temperature. I therefore conclude…
Please write brief sentences. The best reflection essays do not use long winding sentences. Be concise: state your argument clearly. Choose 2-3 concepts from the reading, make sure you are making clear connections between them and the news item. The reflection is two pages, 12inch font, double spaced. Please cite the link of the blog/news-piece or website clearly. Please submit the essays on the date that it is due via Husky CT. The window will remain open from 12:30 am till 11pm☺
