Propaganda
On the 7th of August 2016, the New York Times exposed the manner in which new media and the American journalism who are portrayed as objective and independent were mainly under the pentagon’s guidance. According to the piece as working journalists who mainly believe that Trump during his campaigns was an agitator acting as the worst racists and a dictator and deemed as dangerous when controlling the American nuclear codes then one should never cover him (Rutenberg, 2016). In this context, the media should get rid of the past journalism guidance and focus on telling the truth to the public rather than covering the act of an individual (Rutenberg, 2016).
I believe that the propaganda was produced in the questing of showing the public that Trump was even worse than what was being portrayed by the media. In addition, the piece as a propaganda was seeking to demonstrate that Trump was dangerous for the state by not only being a racist but also a dictator who held no ability to control the nuclear codes of the state (Rutenberg, 2016). What makes the article a propaganda is that it is a communication piece that is objected at influencing the attitude of the American populace in creating a certain political position. The information given is impartial and is primarily utilized in influencing the audience in regard to a given an agenda by offering selective facts while omitting several others that are relevant to the matter. This is conducted in encouraging negative thoughts and emotions rather than encouraging rationality response based on actual facts. I believe that the chosen propaganda is ethically appropriate given that it does not seek to offend rather it is objected on informing. Propaganda can be utilized in a positive manner but the chosen sample does not achieve this.
