For Tyler to avoid the existing conflict between him and Riley, I recommend that the first step he should take is to have a personal meeting with Riley. Communication is a very key factor in improving working relationship. And many disagreements normally occur due to breakdowns in communication. After meeting Riley on personal level, Tyler can now share with him the benefits of maintaining in production. This communication should be interactive involving Riley’s views on that (Siebert & Ballard, 1992). Tyler can also inform Riley the dangers it will cause a company to ignore quality. I think, this approach will make Riley understand it with a lot of concern. And since both of them are managers, there is a need to have this right manner to approach each other rather than confrontations.
Tyler should emphasize that quality management is about producing fantastic products that are satisfactory before customers. And a business should always aim making products that satisfy their customers to maintain the relationship. If customers are satisfied, they will always feel they are getting high quality products hence they will keep a constant trade with the company. And the other thing Tyler should inform Riley is that however much production is high, if those goods do not meet the standard of the customers, many will run away and abandon the product.
So to make this layout standout, Tyler should put into consideration interpersonal communication. This is effective while emphasizing on change. In interpersonal communication, the two parties are involved directly in the conversation and this can provide a solution in a proper manner. Secondly, Tyler should also avoid his impolite language because it does not persuade for change (Siebert & Ballard, 1992).
