Using the Gibb’s model of reflection and the Cultural assessment tool “ABCD”, (both attached for your viewing) discuss your own Attitude, Beliefs/ values, in Context of this subject.

A really brief overview of the subject is,  we looked at the discrimination and oppression Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people have suffered since colonisation by the British and how that affected their health. We studied how we as nurses can improve health outcomes and empower Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people through cultural competent health service delivery.

1 Reflect on your assumptions and how this impacted on your decision making when interacting with Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander people before commencing this subject.

2 Now review and analyse this subject and state how your decision making has been changed by doing this subject.

3 In conclusion how will this impact on your future nursing practice for Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander people, embedding the Graduate Attributes (see below) and the Registered Nurse standards (attached document), Indigenous graduate attributes into your reflective essay.
