- Visit to the dentist office
- Part A
- The dentist office is located in the lakeside of the town where everyone may experience the brilliant sunshine and the lake breeze. The water in the lake is like the sun while watching from a distance. When I last visited the dentist, it was a hot day indeed. Fear knocked on the door, but I had the courage to see the dentist in order to he could attend to my aching tooth. The dentist office is a clean room that I enjoyed staying for the time that I spent there. However, how can one enjoy staying in a dentist office that is not clean? At the entrance, a bell produces a soft but shrill ring. A recipient who was located at the front side of the office welcomes me in a soft and convincing voice. The office is made of transparent glasses that attracted me while I was still yet to enter. There were well-outlined pictures that demonstrate the activities that take place in the office. Well, how beautiful are photographs of people showing their brilliant white teeth?
- The arrangement of chairs inside the office is in a systematic and appeasing manner. The chairs that patients are sitting on seem to be new. The place where the patients sit waiting for the dentists smells lovely. They are clean, and the whole place in the front room looks fabulous. The receptionist issues every patient including me a medical magazine to keep us busy while waiting to see the doctor. Would one not feel boredom while sitting idle waiting for the dentist to attend to patients who had arrived before me in the office? There is a television screen that patients watch the current news while waiting for the dentist.
- Part B
- Waiting the dentist to complete attending to patients who arrived before me is not a compelling experience. However, is it possible that the other patient felt the same way that I felt? After watching the office for a while, I noticed that there was no bottle of cold water available that patients could use to minimize their thirst. Was I expecting to get every thing that I required in that office? After a while, I realize that my watch hates me because it did not ring the alarm alert to show me that it is already 2 pm. The unpleasant experience is that the dentist does no have a nurse to assist, and it takes a lot of time to attend to one patient.
- I can hear the sound of crying babies coming from the other room where the dentist is attending the patients. The sound of the crying babies is irritating that I start losing patience although only two people remaining to receive the service in order my turn to arrive. When my turn comes to enter the room where the dentist is waiting for the patients, a shocking smell welcomes me inside. How was I expecting the room to smell after a number of patients have already received their treatment inside the same room? The room where the dentist is attending to patients is full of gloves that are scattered in the floor near the right corner. The arrangement of the inside room portrays a negative expression of the medical profession. I can see that everything in the inside room is disorganized. What can I do to make the place look organized? How do I expect the dentist to keep the room clean while working all day?
- Part C
- The dentist’s place is a two-room office that is separated by a thick wall that is plastered. The first room is a clean one that attracts the eyes of every patient who enters in the dentist office. The first room reflects the positive appearance of a medical profession. The words that positively describe the first room in the dentist office are a clear indication of how well the office is an attracting place to the patients. Although I did not include that the first room contains a carpet; this feature is not common to witness. Most of the features that are located in this room give an indication that the patient is valued. I was interested in staying in the office while waiting for the dentist because I felt relaxed. The place surrounding the clinic is patient friendly considering the fact that the weather is calm.
- According to information on the second part of the paper, the room where the dentist carries his operation is not a pleasing one comparing to the first room. The wall that separates the two rooms gives the reason why the negative features could not be exposed to the patients. Everyone was expecting to find the features of the first room in the second room. The features in the first room are to convince the patient that the services that are provided in the medical office are of high quality. The information that I revealed in part two of this paper could not feature well in part one because the later contained the positive issues that I experienced in the clinic. The photographs and pictures situated in the first room give the patients a chance to get information of how to take care of their teeth. While describing the first room of the dentist office, it is clear that I am in a happy mood due to the exiting features that I encounter. On the contrary, when describing the inside room of the dentist office, I am in a sad mood due to the fact I did not meet the expectations of my mind concerning the services that I thought I could get.
- The patients had a difficult time while waiting for the dentist to attend to them. Most of the patients were experiencing much pain comparing to how I felt. However, most of the patients were not happy with the slow process of the dentist while attending on clients. The question that was arising among the patients is how comes that the dentist does not employ an assisting nurse. According to the essay, it is clear that I have outlined both two sides of a medical profession. Although, it is well to note that not all medical professions portray the same qualities that the dentist that was attending to my problem had. Showing that the dentist's office is a disorganized room while describing the inside room affected the description that many would expect because this shows the negative side. In most cases, many people tend to hear only the positive side but forget that the negative side also counts to some important issues. According to the essay, it is clear that both the negative and positive issues of the dentist’s office carry the same weight.
