Questions and Topics We Can Help You To Answer:
Need an INTRODUCTION section written for my research paper on functional assessment tool which measures the performance by persons with disabilities of the necessary activities of daily living. The aim of this pilot study was to examine the accuracy and consistency of Kinect-based reachable workspace and its sensitivity to changes in function in comparison with the traditionally used functional assessment tools called Functional Independence Measure (FIM) motor score. To determine the clinical meaningfulness of reachable workspace, we also examined the correlation between the Kinect-based reachable workspace and the self-reported responses with respect to time. At each follow up, subjects completed the NeuroQOL (Neurological Disorders Quality of Life) questionnaire as well as Disabilities of the Arm, Shoulder and Hand (DASH) questionnaire. In summary, we propose the use of reachable workspace as a a new functional status assessment tool for inpatients with upper extremity disabilities.
