POLICY FACT SHEET Assignment The first assignment that will serve as the foundation for your final policy brief is a one-page fact sheet on mother-to-child transmission of HIV in Sub-Saharan Africa. In your fact sheet, follow the instructions for Exercise 1 on pages 6-8 of A Student′s Guide to Writing a Global Health Policy Brief. Your fact sheet should provide answers to questions such as: 1) What is the public health issue or global health challenge? 2) What is the nature and magnitude of the problem? What are the health consequences? 3) Who is affected by it? 4) What are the risk factors*? 5) Are there non-health consequences (e.g., economic, social, political) from this problem? 6) How is this particular problem related to other global health challenges? 7) What are the available interventions, strategies, and policies to address this problem?
