In a new thread, answer two sets of questions provided below:

1. Describe Paul’s background.  Discuss the issues in determining a chronology of Paul’s life.  Be sure to list any data that can be used for this purpose.  How important is the book of Acts in this procedure?  Offer a brief overview of Paul’s life and missionary activities.
2. Discuss the materials and methods used to produce letters in the first century.  Define the words “pseudonymity” and “pseudepigraphy.”  What was the purpose for pseudonymous writings?  Were any of the NT writings authored pseudonymously?  Give a defense of your answer.
3. Provide an overview of Paul’s theology of the person and work of Christ.  Offer a summary of what Paul meant by being “in Christ."  What were Paul’s sources for his theology and his authority?  How would you explain Paul’s view of being “in Christ” to a curious non-believer?
4. Provide an overview of Paul’s theology regarding Judaism and the Law.  How did Paul understand the Law after his conversion?  How did Paul view the religion of Judaism after his conversion?  Summarize the New Perspective and some of the responses to it.  How does the New Perspective help us understand Paul’s writings?
