- Elements of religious tradition
- The social structure about the religious tradition can be embarked roughly on continuum that dwells on the respective height of interpersonal involvement and engagement in social life. Most religious traditions are at some point entrenched in different aspects of personal and social life, for instance, the medieval Catholic Church and some Islamic states tend to have the same concept about religious tradition. Some other religious traditions with the same concept can as well placed under the same category as they portray on personal and social life. Nevertheless, the multivalent interplay amongst the secular and religious spheres has raised a number of questions about the essence of religion since they ought to argue that it presents the tradition in a totally embedded within the political, cultural and social economic worlds view.
- Religion is very crucial in social life and largely on the religious traditions and the components of the religious tradition in relation to the sacred tends to give basic information on religion. The teachings and doctrines of religion among others give an overview on what the religious tradition have on the issue of worship, rituals, prayer among many more that give details on the organization of religious tradition in relation to leadership, essence of doctrines, relationships among members and so forth (Miller, 2005). The issue of religious tradition is basically done by some religion since it has been done before and it is highly regarded as it has been involvement of gods and goddesses over many years back and the traditions are different from one religion to another. Therefore, every religions teachings, myths and stories enables people to understand better about a certain religion and get to know better on what they do. For instance, the Christian religion use the bible as their symbol and the Christian go through the bible to get stories about the existence of the earth and that is how the Christian beliefs comes about. At the same note, it explains about the Christian doctrines and illustrates why there are some specific holidays for Christians and the importance of those particular days. On the other hand, the Hindus religion has the Bhagavat Gita, the Ramanyana and many more that tend to explain about some stories on how the gods, goddesses lived and their principles. This explains on why the celebrate some holidays and how they are supposed to do it in respect of their religion and also what should and not should be done during those religious days. The Hindus literature was literally composed in Sanskrit. The Islamic religion on the religion on the other hand use the Quran and this gives them a guideline on what should be done according to their religion and the Muslims believe and follow in order to lead a great life. The Buddhist religion use the Theravada, Tibetan among many more sacred texts in relation to their religion. Those texts have got great significance and sacred meanings and tradition on the Buddhist beliefs (Wood, 2002).
- A relationship with the divine is crucial when it comes to all beliefs of religion without passing a message and any connectivity amongst the divine, the normal challenges and experiences that is encountered each day becomes difficult to manage the problem since testing of an individuals faith and being disobedient to the word of God. The relationships according to the fellowship with the divine ought to assist the individual to live an honesty life and at the same time walk on the light of God as well as with one another and without consistent relationship and fellowship can result an individual into a bad life and have broken fellowship with divine. According to some religion, they believe that sacred life is the time of eternity (Possamai, 2012). All the activities that take place every day are determined by effective use of clock all trough an individuals’ lives, therefore, within the religious contexts, sacred time for a number of religions is valued in different ways depending on their doctrines. Sacred times help those who believe in that particular religion to come in touch with his thoughts of being set apart of that context. In many cases, their sacred times for the fellowship should have their celebrations during religious holidays in some specific times of the year, worship and have different ceremonies in relation to their religion and these normally bonds them together and make their hearts more devoted.
- Generally, most teachings offer people a way of understanding their own lives and make them grow upright. Some religions worship many different gods though others only believe only Supreme Being is said to exist and this doctrines and teachings have embarked in numerous generations as it has translated and rewritten in many versions and languages and some of tem affect the meaning. Therefore, the meaning of some instances is on purpose, text taken from one religion and reworded for another to conform to a different religious belief.
