- I discovered that the most significant issue of being a successful musician is to love it unconditionally since I was a child. The other issue I managed to discover during my younger age is that a musician ought to love instruments he/she is playing. Moreover, a musician ought to work hard in order to attain the best level. I discovered that by combining all the three items, I could be able to focus on what I am able to do best because I loved music with all my heart. Our Sunday school teacher kept telling us that if someone has a will to be a musician in future, there is no need to ignore the calling. The teacher also always indicated to us that music should not be boring but it ought to be an adventure.
- I stated practicing how to play a guitar with my grandfather who also had great love in music when I was 3 years old. I could also practice playing saxophone and trumpet with my father but only during summer season after he came home from his place of work. When I was not playing guitar, I could keep singing in the house using various kitchen item like the spoon as microphone. My mother also managed to buy a toy for me that resembled keyboard. I was very happy when practicing with the toy; little did I know that I could become one of the best keyboard players in future. I came to figure out that the support I managed to receive from my parents and family members played a significant role in creating a strong foundation for my music career. My grandfather receives all the credits for pushing me since I was young to follow my dream in music.
- I could manage to play several jazz music instruments while I was in 6th grade. Back in high school, I joined the school music jazz band and continued to develop my music skills. I could manage to wake up at 2am and start practicing my vocals. It was very hard to be up in the cold while nobody else in the band seemed to care much about practice. In every year in my high school history, I managed to play different type of music instrument. By the time I was graduating, I was competent with playing instruments. I managed to receive many awards while in high school. The most significant award was of most active band member I received from the school management while I was in the 10th grade. After this particular award, the school chose me to be the band leader of which I did until my final year. Moreover, I was an active member of our church choir. This also helped me to gain experience in playing and singing different kinds of music.
- I continued playing music after joining the university. I also managed to meet other students who had the passion of singing in the university. We created a jazz band and performed in various occasions. The music life in the university played a key role in enhancing and empowering my career. We won several awards and secured various opportunities of presenting concerts at public occasions. This contributed in helping me to become courageous while in front of many people. I am now able to play various music instruments and sing well in my vocals. Music has been the joy of my life and I will continue singing and playing various instruments.
