The choice for an Executive LLM was informed by the desired to continue working and studying at the same time. As I undertake this course, I will be able to apply the wide range of analytical and legal skills that I have mastered at work. Undertaking this course will is also important in the expansion of my network since it provides an opportunity to meet new professionals in a different university which can provide a fallback plan. The course also allows for an active research which means that I can explore other fields and even an opportunity to contribute to research that is publishable. The fact that the course can allow me to work while carrying on with my studies has really interested me since this makes it possible for my career path not to suffer like it would happen in case studying and working simultaneously was not possible.
My education strength and background involve a variety of legal systems obtained during my undergraduate studies and other upgrading courses. These studies instilled a deep knowledge of international law principles while the upgrading courses enabled me to gain an understanding of Spanish and English languages which have been quite important in my working environments. The international law knowledge has provided a good foundation for a course in LLM and this has been a source of academic strength necessary in undertaking this course. In addition, my working experience in various legal capacities at International Investment Bank, Legal Department at MFA Russia and my internship background has helped me see the need for more studies to widen the scope of knowledge on legal matters. The working environment has imparted various skills including negotiation and organizational skills, legal drafting knowledge and skills and ability to work independently has informed my decision to pursue higher qualification through LLM.
The enrolment into this program aligns with my desire to have an accomplished career in law especially in relation to international business law and other organizations that have their presence globally. My goal is to attain consultancy and management roles in business organizations, government organizations, and non-governmental organizations in the future after having mastered the relevant principles of International Law. The enrolment into this course will help me to pursue my career path and at the same time undergo personal growth and development for a better future. The reputation of this Institution is positive since it has given opportunities it has provided to previous learners in pursuing their career goals and objectives. Hence, I believe that the program will provide an opportunity for me to have a positive future in terms of career and personal growth and development.
My research interest involves the intersection of legal theory, organizational and political theory in the international environment including the application of international laws in an organizational setting. Hence, I intended to be involved in carrying out more research on the development, implementation, and implication of international law principles in the organizational and business settings. An exploration of the legal theory and how it relates to other aspects of the society or business field will be important in advancing my knowledge on legal matters. Working on related research projects will contribute to the current and future legal principles and knowledge and how such can be used in influencing the happenings in the world at large.
