First Review: Rent Movie

Rent is a musical drama which was first introduced to the public back in the year 2005. However the director is an American known as Chris Columbus whom is an artist as well as an actor. The musical film is in form of rock whereby it has some lyrics by Jonathan Larson. With a clear attention of the music from the drama which takes the major part; it gives a clear story of a clutch of penniless young individuals struggling to earn a living as well as generate their own life. The film was first performed at the New Yolk Workshop Theatre (Larson, 2005).

The musical documentary (Rent) gives a history of youngsters and how they strain even with their lives for at least better lives. The play goes around Mark plus Roger who are the main characters where they are depicted as roommates. A strange tragedy had made Roger traumatise his life where Mark tried harder to capture. However, the group had their consequences over years where they had to deal with AIDS, love loss trying to live a modern day life. In my opinion the documentary is highly able to generate a true as well as powerful story (Larson, 2005).

I was able to maintain my eye contact which is an important aspect in movies since it enables one become more confident and has a great relationship with the characters. The eye contact provided clear information about the entire film as well as a good reflection of the music. In my opinion acting is a good profession for both genders since any kind of profession requires training and skills. It is only in the field of acting where one can easily gain fame plus utilize his talents and ability (Larson, 2005).

Columbus was able to introduce the perfect costumes in the film which easily introduced the theme even before action began. Youngsters dressed in cheap costumes where they seem not to care of their look. Individual like Jesse Martin (Tom Collins) is depicted as a bisexual professor and by the look of his cladding the name suits him right. The sound effects in the film define how rhythm in a piece is placed with time. Dynamics are other modern elements in rock tracks where they both graduates in the volume of sound from loud to soft (Larson, 2005).

As an audience the movies was moving since it had a flow which made it appear a real story. Rogers’s reactions after he realized that he was HIV positive were sympathetic especially when he introduced a new song ‘One Song Glory’. Being a drug addict lead him to other complications made him see the end of life and the audience is able to understand this from the song the introduced ‘Light My Candle’ (Larson, 2005).

In conclusion I would suggest that the play was real in mind since it is realist that most young people struggle in such a manner to earn their daily bread. It is sad that poverty as depicted in the film changes a better generation to a spoiled one which is filled with drugs, diseases plus other evil acts. The rock played in the movies portrays a rotten generation with no future or its hope (Larson, 2005).

Second Review: Wicked Act

The performance was about the society of OZ which celebrates the death one Wicked Witch from the west. They were celebrating since they believe that nobody mourns the wicked. The diseased Wicked Witch was known as Elphaba a daughter to the governor of Munchkinland whom was born unnatural birth. It was believed that when the Governor went to work the wife had an affair with another mother who is believed to have the evil spirits and that’s why the Governor’s daughter was born as green (Marks, 2015).

The setting of the plot is clear and so easy to follow, despite some complicated conditions in the drama, it finally become clear at the end of the play. The wicked person as the citizens of OZ claims does no harm to anyone where-else it is believed that wicked people are the enemy of the society. Many were happy that Elphaba was dead they even called for a celebration where they danced in the streets when Glinda revealed to them the good news of the death. Despite the fact that the play is interesting it makes no sense where the people believe that someone is a witch yet they hardly know a thing about her (Marks, 2015).

During the entire performance every audience in the theater reacted with the performance, some felt sorry for Elphaba who did no harm to anyone yet she was viewed as threat to every individual. The audience was so emotional that they shed tears when the Citizens of OZ celebrated the death of the Wicked (Marks, 2015).

The performance costumes were appropriate for ever actor since they were able to enable the audience figure out the period which the play was set. Every actor personality was easily analyzed by their mode of dressing where it was easier for the audience to determine the nature of the characters. Through costumes in the performance, they symbolically conveyed a certain characteristic and the theme of the entire play (Marks, 2015).

According to Elphaba she did not play her role believably as a witch but rather she is portrayed as a good actor rather than the monster the society believed she was. Considering Glanda  her performance act was so confusing that she was the only individual whom understood Elphaba  despite the fact that even his own dad detested her. She is depicted as a superior character to the end when she proclaims the death of the ‘Wicked Witch’ (Marks, 2015).

According to my views I would categorize the entire play as unrealistic despite the interesting part behind it. Elphaba being born from two side of the world opts not to act and behave like other normal beings; she should be the monster that the Citizens believed she was (Marks, 2015).
