You have been given the assignment to evaluate an organization for a potential acquisition. The business is service based and labor intensive. Sales and market share have been dwindling in the last few years; prior to that time growth averaged in the 6% to 8% range. The CEO of this firm has only been with the business for a few years and has a tenured background in manufactured products. You have been told the associates in the business are demotivated under the current administration. Using what you have learned from Chapters 5 and 6 what would you examine to determine the drivers behind the current performance? How could you quantify? What would you recommend to your management team? Note this organization is based in the United States. Would any of these factors change if the firm was located in Brazil? Use the Hofstede tool provided in the readings and assignments section to assist in your analysis.
