Introduction

The media has become an omnipresent feature in the modern world.  Several studies make the argument that the modern world is now a small place which has been impacted TV channels which hold effects on students’ knowledge as well as culture (Noble, Osheim, & Strauss, 2008). In the Arabs world especially for the Arabs students in American, Girne University dubbed Arabs series holds a greater influence in the media world. Dubbing can be referred as the  procedure through which  the translation of drama into a language of a different country through eradicating the main voice of the characters  thus replacing it with a distinct language voice to fit that of the particular country that is done through recording methodology (Noble,  Osheim, & Strauss, 2008). This paper will, therefore, seek to present an analysis of the role of dubbed Turkish TV series in Arabic channels and its effect on the culture values of Arab students at Girne American University.

The Arabian world is characterized by a strong culture which is very hard to assimilate based on their practices.  For the youths in university, the dubbed Turkish series plays a critical role in regard to culture as well as thinking transformation (Noble, Osheim, & Strauss, 2008). In the field of communication, there have been increased technological advances and Turkish dubbed series have come to play a significant role in the lives of the Arabs students in the Girne University.  Turkish dubbed serials play a significant role in the Arabs students in the context of ideas generation as well as individual’s social behaviors.  In addition, the Turkish dubbed series influences the students to entrench, leave and even modify social values (Dinçer, Dinçer, Kutlay, & Kurumu, 2012).

Turkish dubbed serials attract a wide range of audiences and mostly the Arabs students in Girne University.  The Turkish dubbed series themes, characters conduct of dressing and the romantic scenes are not inconsistent with the Arabs society’s customs as well as the entrenched values (Noble, Osheim, & Strauss, 2008). Dubbed Turkish series holds negative as well as positive impacts of their consumption by the Arabs university students. Most Arabs students in American universities are highly attracted by the dubbed series based on different reasons.  The main rationale is based on communication and technological advances.

Study Significance

Turkish dubbed series affects the Arabs youths negatively because they fail to protect their cultural value as well as nationality. This series, therefore, sweeps ways the conduct of individuals thus transforming the social behavior. This, therefore, means that the cultural values of the Arabs students are assimilated thus adopting the Turkish modern values (Dinçer, Dinçer, Kutlay, & Kurumu, 2012). Turkish series are the most popular among the youths and therefore their influence I particularly high. Most Arabs students have the challenge of differentiating between reality as well as fiction as the series influences the attitudes, ideals as well as the behaviors of the students. The dubbed series impacts Arabs students by shifting life style changes. Most students’ transforms their conduct as well as the code of dressing by on what the series portrays, the images that are demonstrated by the series acts as motives influences thus changing the ideas as well as the conduct of individuals. It has been established that most Arab students are in support of the recent dubbed Turkish serials spread.  Dubbed series brings negative cultural invasion which impacts traditions and values of the Arabs negatively (Dinçer, Dinçer, Kutlay, & Kurumu, 2012).
