The world has been growing rapidly across the globe thus enhancing integration of different states and the results has been brisk development for the past years. With this kind of development since the world war two, there has been establishment of different theories such as the modern and dependency theories which have tried to explain the correlation between different nations and the rationale behind the variation in development between third world countries and the developed countries. There are some differences between the two theories but the major difference between the two theories is based on the relationship between the developing nations and the developed nations. The modernization theory tends to believe that all areas develop through related stages of development meaning that the underdeveloped areas are in a similar condition with that of the developed countries and in helping the underdeveloped states out of their poor conditions is to increase their speed towards the path of development. On the other hand, the dependency theory argues out that the developed states impose relationship with the developing countries with an aim of maximizing their benefit for instance, the movement of resources from the poor nations to the wealthy nations hence they are able to gain control and are able to enhance the dependency of the peripheral states to the core ones. Peripheral states represent the poor and underdeveloped nations which are often overexploited by the core states which represent the wealthy and developed states ( Klesner 2014). There are several factors that result o chronic underdevelopment in these countries, such as poor infrastructure, poor technology, poor governance and inadequate educational facilities hence unskilled labor and reduced industrialization.
