Laws, Morals, Ethics, Religious Beliefs in behavior expression.
Laws, Morals, Ethics, and Religious Beliefs play a fundamental effect in behavior development depending on their effect on the self, positive or negative. The terms are similar in their definition of providing the governance on the behavior demonstration among the community members. The term law is defined as a set of rules set aside to monitor the conduct of an individual in a community or a state. It thus aims to control individual behaviors by providing restriction and punishment for the wrongdoers. Religious beliefs also provide a set of beliefs associated with ascertaining faith in a supreme being as the controller of people's judgment. Religious beliefs and law help set the moral grounds in treating people based on individual ethics in differentiating the right thing and the wrong things.
The way individuals behave around each other is thus controlled by a set of conditions that allows the coexistence of the people in the same setting. As the law sets the rules with is regulation, it also provides the moral basis in determining what is right and wrong and provides punishment for the wrong deeds. Religious beliefs define what people believe is required of them by God, thus providing the morals and ethics in individual treatment, thus dictating how people behave. Similarly, the knowledge acquired from the interaction of the four aspects provides the grounds for individual behavior development as each aspect plays a vital role in character development. Religious beliefs, ethics, and morals provides laws that predicts how people behaves through the provision of what is right and what is wrong.
Similarly, despite the terms playing the same role in the character and behavior development and expression, they have different meanings. The law stands for the rules developed for a specific group of people to maintain order in the given place. It thus provides the people with the chance of being protected from other people by providing their rights and freedom. The case is different in religious belief, where the control of the faith depends on the religion and not geographical location. The effects of the beliefs affect people concerning their different beliefs religiously and the contemplation of their religion. According to religion, the guidelines on relating with each other are thus provided by a supreme being. Judgment is also based on the individual's beliefs and definition of right and wrong. The main difference is the passive belief that the high power or the supreme being governs as all and judges as all as every community have a being their believe in and is known as all-knowing, thus providing judgment to all living things.
On the other hand, morals provide the community members with a standard on how people can coexist peacefully. Unlike the aspects in religious beliefs and laws, morality can be considered dynamic, as it is determined by the conditions provided at the time. Despite this, morality has its basis in religious beliefs and sometimes tradition, but it moves beyond the aspect of culture as it depends on time. The difference with ethics is based on what is right or wrong despite their effects on morality. The effects of all this aspect to behaviors is dependent on the interpretation of the aspects. Ethics provides the codes governing individual behaviors, for instance, in a particular profession, making them not always morally right. In all four aspects, behavior modification is dependent on the individual’s exposure to morality, moral values virtues, culture, and ethics.
The four aspects are vital in controlling the individual behaviors as the law provides a guideline of the do and do not as far as personal relation is considered in a given geographical location. It thus controls how people relate with each other where their effectiveness in the behavior control is on the punitive nature in their enforcement (Finamore, 2019). People thus choose to behave to evade the punishment associated with breaking the rules. Sometimes laws like religious beliefs provide the values that determine how people behave. Religion brings about morality in itself as people try to behave concerning their faith. Religion influences behaviors by infusing the karmas based on individual beliefs where God uses brutal means to enforce order and morality. Thus, individuals behave concerning their fear of God's wrath to humankind, thus avoiding maintaining morality and honesty in the way they conduct themselves.
Morality involves behaviors that are aligned with one's values and standards. Their moral behaviors and character development greatly influence people behaviors as it dictates how people treat each other. Moral principles, values, and virtue are dependent on religious beliefs, culture, and law. Morality thus affects behaviors according to the moral principles instilled in an individual; aspects such as honesty result from good morals and virtues. Despite the difference in the two terms, morality and ethics, the word hand in hand determines individual behaviors, especially when considering what is right (Singer, 2021). Behaviors at this level are thus controlled by the ethical consideration where all aspects used to determine the morality and ethics of an action are considered. The event generally controls people's behaviors and the codes surrounding the individual, thus determining how they conduct themselves. The difference in law, morality, ethics, and religious belief is from their basis in the control of behaviors where the law and ethics act on equity and justice while religious beliefs and morality work from the moral aspect. In this, the moral aspect is dependent on the individual moral grow thus impacting behaviors on both sides the negative and positive in consideration of one’s moral principles, virtues, and values.
Being a law-abiding citizen has been one of the critical aspects that have greatly helped me behave around people. The law provides the guidelines, rights, and freedom assigned to all citizens, thus providing a means of treating people. Understanding what is required of me by the law allows me to contemplate what is right or wrong based on my religious beliefs. The critical aspect in my character and behavior development is the region where I am a Christian who beliefs in a culture of being a brother's keeper. This allows me to regard others as equal in the law and treat them kindly to ensure I get the same treatment back. Religious beliefs allow for acquiring virtues such as respect, responsibility, and others, evading unlawful acts, thus dictating how I behave.
Religion provides the basis of my morality by providing morals and virtues key to how I behave as an individual. Moral aspects such as sharing allow me to be social and friendly with people, eliminating the behavior vices like conflict and abusive words. Despite the aspects of ethics and morality being dynamic, they provide the basis of my behavior through the stimulation of critical thinking, thus helping to discern the proper action in every case. My main goal of making life better allows me to apply the four aspects in every scenario to consider everyone's interests before taking any action. Similarly, the possession of moral virtues and principles allows me to apply religious teaching in ensuring I treat people right, thus controlling my behavior and allowing me to be civil.
