5-6 pages double spaced 3 credible resources, no encyclopedia, no textbooks. It is conventional wisdom among American political theorists, as well as among political scientists in general, that national identity, political culture, as well as public policy in the United States have been significantly influenced throughout our history by the concept of the American Dream. At the same time, there is a growing concern that the American Dream may no longer be feasible in a post-modern, Globalized world in which income inequality has grown to record levels in the United States. Is the American Dream primarily a product of the distinct political and social history of the United States or can its origins be traced back to other, Western political theorists? Can these theorists’ ideas help us to determine whether or not the American Dream can still be viable in present and future times? Your completed project must contain the following elements: Discuss the concept of the “American Dream,” including its basic definition and the extent to which it has evolved over time in U.S. history. Describe the extent to which the concept of the American Dream has become a part of U.S. political culture since its creation. To what extent has the American Dream significantly influenced the actions of the U.S. national government over time? A comparison and contrast discussion of the concept of the American Dream with the major ideas of at least two of the political theorists covered in class this semester. In your opinion, is it valid to argue that, to a large extent, the notion of the American Dream arose due to circumstances specific to the United States or can it be suggested that its elements can be found in the political cultures and experiences of other nations around the world? Explain. A brief discussion of your informed belief as to whether or not the ideas of the political theorists discussed earlier in your paper can provide any insight as to the continued viability of the American Dream in the United States now and in the future. We discussed Plato, Early Christian Era, Roman Empire, Hobbes, Augustine, Luther, Machiavelli. Use them. The Political Theory of the American Dream

The quantitative method has grown to become the most important methodological approach in contemporary international relations scholarship, but this turn promised to produce a scientific-like understanding of global behavior and has not produced the hoped-for results. We sacrifice in-depth knowledge and rely on techniques that provide short-cuts employed to understand reality. The problematic outcome is that we neglect some elementary components of research, such as theory. Please review and assess the "Leaving Theory Behind" article by Mearsheimer and Walt.
