  • Political Equality and the Political Participation
  • Introduction
  •             The political participation in many countries is a voluntary activity where citizens have the right to choose whether to participate or not. The political equality and the political participation are both the basic ideals that characterize democracy. However, it is important various studies have shown that there occurs class bias in the political participation. This bias in the political participation has been associated with factors such as socioeconomic difference among the members of the community. This essay therefore presents some of the evidence to support the idea that there is a class bias in the political participation and voting.

  • Solving political problems in Libya
  •             In order to solve the political problems that the people of Libya are facing it is important for one to establish some of the root causes of these problems. This can help one to establish a long lasting solution to the problem the people of Libya are facing. In relation to this it is important for the government to address the issues of the historically manufactured conflict. This is because the former president of Libya, Qaddafi was a conflict creator. He used the various country resources and tools to achieve his regional and global goals (Falola, Toyin, Jason Morgan, and Oyeniyi, 20). Another critical way of solving the problems faced by people of Libya is through solving the tribal problems. Uniting the various tribes found in Libya can help to create a harmonious societ.

  • Effect of Attitudes on Interpretation
  •             The attitude refers to the mental or the neutral state of or the readiness to respond to a certain thing. Attitude evaluation of a person also involves determining a particular person belief about something or a certain place. Dancy in the article “The Consequences of Political Cynicism: How Cynicism Shapes Citizens Reactions to Political Scandals” first present a strong argument that cynic toward the elected officials largely influence how different individuals interpret the information regarding various political scandals (Dancey, 2011). In relation to this he first present an argument that the people normally have belief that the leaders are working for their own interest and therefore engage into dishonest activities to benefit their personal interest.

  • UNDOCUMENTED IMMIGRANTS IN USA
  • Opinion
  •             Analyzing the issue related to the undocumented immigrants in USA I would therefore argue that the immigrants help to strengthen the country because of their hard. Considering the immigration reforms that have been implemented I strong disagree with these reforms. This is because I believe that it is unlawful to discredit a hard working worker on the basis of not being documented as US citizen. The anti immigration policies reform can also lead to punishing of law-abiding citizen. I also Consider the argument the argument that undocumented worker would cause the American citizen to lose job to be unacceptable. This is because when people are applying the jobs the employers do not favor immigrants in any ways. In this case everyone is given a chance to prove his or her qualification before securing the job. This therefore implies that the no one should present an argument that he or she will be denied job opportunity by the immigrants.

  • Do you think the U.S. should allow more Cubans into the country under political asylum provisions? Why or why not?
  • No, by allowing more Cubans in the country under the political asylum provision will induce further mass immigration from Cuba. This mass immigration can have adverse negative effect on US economy. The Cuban government may also take that opportunity to transfer the social and economic cost in their country to the US taxpayer through the mass immigration. In relation to this it has been established that over 50000 Cuban citizen who were granted permanent resident had at one time received over $322 million through the various federal assistance programs. In addition the high numbers of the Cuban immigrants in US have led to increase in the unemployment levels in some states in United States. This is because most of these immigrants compete with the US citizen in search for the job opportunity. It is also important to note that the high number of immigrants in United States under the political asylum has led to increase in the congestion in some cities.

  • Corruption
  •             Corruption is the act of offering bribes to gain the first privilege in certain situations. People usually engage in corruption so that they can get unfair advantage in their daily life. Unfair advantage that corrupt people engage may include paying of lower tax and getting promotion in their place of work. Some people engage in acts of corruption in order to win prizes while other gives bribes so that they can avoid various penalties. In most cases, corruption starts in the governance level and then to the public. Corruption starts when the society fails to employ moral values. In the government level, corruption starts when there are no pillars of good governance (Uslaner, 2008).

  • USE OF FORCE AND WAR ON TERRORISM
  • INTRODUCTION
  • Terrorism became very prominent and a major issue after the 9/11 attacks[1]. President Bush and the US Attorney General categorically stated that the attacks were a violation of various rights and entitled the United States to defend itself by virtue of article fifty-one. The article Cleary demonstrates how a state may defend itself through armed violence[2]. This interpretation has been very problematic among scholars of international law with some arguing that the attacks are against the rights of every citizen and every country that repels such attacks can use article 51 to justify its actions[3]. On this paper, I will observe on the law concerning applying excessive force and self-defense. It will also analyze the arguments for or against the view that terrorism is a violation the second article in section four of the UN Charter.

  • Terror in Fear
  •             Many of the citizens in America developed a sense of fear after the 9/11 attack. The government was not expecting the attack and believed it had the capacity of defending its citizens. However, terror groups managed to attack the United States in unexpected moment. The attack was an issue that the American government took with seriousness and established strong protective measures of defending the citizens from future attacks. In addition, information that would prepare the citizens psychologically in order to create awareness about terror attacks was established.

  • News Briefs
  •             According to the article, the Iranian government convicted the person known as Nadarkhani because he changed religion. He was to face death because of his religious beliefs but the government accused him of extortion. The government also accused him of rape in order to cover up the main reason for his death. The story of Nadarkhani’s death brought much attention to the rest of the world after reaching the highest levels of the Iranian government. One of the supreme leaders known as Ali Khamenei issued a statement concerning the death of the young man (Merica, 2011). When most of the Christian men received about the news of Nadarkhani’s, they developed tension creating bad blood towards the Muslim community. This was a possible cause of war in Iran.

  • American Government
  •             The constitution of the American government has played a big role in the well-being of its citizen. According to the constitution, the last clause of the eighth section depicts that all laws ought to be respected and the powers of the constitution be vested by any department officer of the American Government (Frantzich & Ernst, 2009). Another clause that raises some arguments in the constitution of America is the second clause of the sixth article that declares that the Supreme law of the land will always be the pursuance of the constitution and the treaties made by the authority. The above two clause have brought many arguments among many citizens of America and have caused discrimination to among some communities.

  • A Piece of Legislation (State or National) Supported By Libertarian Party
  •             As a member of the Libertarian Party, we do not support the bill requiring schools to teach gay history. The bill requires the youth to know and understand the historical accomplishment of the gay and lesbian people in the state of California. The reason for supporting the bill is that it promotes the practice of homosexuality to the young people. According to the definition of the bill, it states that everyone has the right to know and do what everything provided is allowed by the law. Whoever is eligible of committing any crime has to face the law as referred in the bill. The bill is among the new ones introduced in the year 2009 and referred on the judicially committee.
