Proteins are one of the basic and important components of the body, and they form the structural part of most organs and make up enzymes and some hormones that regulate bodily functions. Knowing which proteins are present, absent, elevated, or decreased in body fluids such as blood can help diagnose and monitor various diseases. One of the most common ways to estimate and measure a specific protein and the properties of protein in the body is protein Electrophoresis is a simple, rapid, and highly sensitive lab technique to study the properties of protein. The separation of protein based on the fact that charged molecules will migrate through a matrix when placed in an electric field. Usually The sample is move in a support matrix such as polyacrylamide gel. This gel is mostly used to separate proteins, and Polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis can be used to analyze the size, amount, Purity, and isoelectric point of polypeptides and proteins.. Electrophoresis techniques has an ancient history but it has entered a new phase at the hands of Swedish scientist ( Arne Wilhelm Kauri Tiselius) , and for the first time this scientist used electrophoresis to Indicate that blood consist of four blood serum proteins; albumin and alpha-, beta- and gamma globulin. The Final Paper is the culmination of your research.  It must be focused on a new or emerging technology that has applications in medical imaging and is associated with a specific pathology.  Each researcher is expected to synthesize the information taken from reputable sources and create original thoughts.  Paraphrasing and the liberal use of source citations will be required.  It is expected the use of direct quotations is limited to a total number of less than five throughout the entire paper, and block quotations (quotations that contain more than 40 words) will not be allowed.  Additionally, the final paper will be required to meet APA formatting standards including subtitles, correct spelling and grammar, and will contain at least 10 sources (current within a 10 year period).  Of the resources used, the majority must be current to within six years.  It is expected that 25% of the references used will be peer reviewed.  The body of your final paper, at minimum, must be at least 10 pages in length.

The 2012 revision to the Hazard Communication Standard (HCS) requires that employers train workers on the GHS-compliant hazard warning labels and safety data sheets (see 1910.1200(h)(3)(iv)). Using Appendices C and D of the current standard as a resource, develop a 10-slide PowerPoint presentation that can be used to train the employees at your workplace or a workplace with which you are familiar. Include examples of the hazardous materials found in your selected workplace in the presentation.

When creating your presentation, be sure your explanations and discussion are in plain language and at a level suitable for your target workforce; do not just quote the standard. Additional resources can be found at OSHA’s Hazard Communication page located below. Please incorporate at least two references into the PowerPoint presentation. The notes may be used to explain the concepts listed on each slide in the PowerPoint presentation.

Unit outcomes assessed:
2. Assess the practical application of learning theories in motor learning
3. Analyse factors which affect the learning and development of motor skills
4. Assess laboratory data within the context of current research literature

Task Description:
Students are required to submit a written report using the experimental procedures and results from one of the laboratories in weeks 2-5. The topic area will be allocated by your tutor. Please note, you will be using both your individual and class data for the results. This experiment must be written and submitted in scientific format including an introduction, methods, results, discussion and reference section.

The scientific report will include:
• An introduction section, which clearly defines the topic and elaborates upon its subcomponents
using sources from scientific literature. This section also provides a purpose of the report. (20
marks)
• A methods section, which includes a detailed recount of the experimental procedure. The
methods must be detailed enough to be replicated and be written using scientific language. Please ensure the methods is written in your own words and not a direct copy from the tutorial notes. (15 marks)
• A results section, that presents the results of the experiment (both individual and class data) organised using text, tables and figures (graphs). (25 marks)
• A discussion section, which reports and compares key qualitative and quantitative findings of the results to those found in similar scientific literature. This section also includes a conclusion which restates the collective findings and deductions. (30 marks)
• Presentation and academic writing and referencing will also be assessed. (10 marks total)

Step 1: Your tutor will allocate you a skill acquisition topic based on an experiment conducted in class from weeks 2-5 (see Table 1).

Table 1.
Skill acquisition topics: ATTENTION
Step 2: Conduct a search of the selected skill acquisition topic to obtain background information, using textbooks and primary scientific literature. A minimum of at least two journal articles must be found and referenced for this report.
Step 3: Ensure you have your individual and class data for the allocated topic. Please contact your tutor if you have any questions regarding this data.
Step 4: Compile the data and write up the report, ensuring that you use the Marking Criteria as a guide and meet all key elements for Referencing and Presentation / Formatting outlined in Table 2.
Step 5: It is strongly recommended students submit the draft scientific report via email to the SLS to receive assistance with academic writing and referencing. Students will also have one opportunity to submit a draft to the Turnitin Draft Submission on the LMS to check for inadvertent breaches of academic honesty by the due date.
Step 6: Submit the final scientific report as a word document through Turnitin Final Submission on the LMS by 11.55pm Sunday 31st May, Week 10. You will receive an e-mail receipt confirming that your final upload has been successful. Please keep a record of this receipt.
