Unit III PowerPoint Presentation
Weight: 10% of course grade
Grading Rubric
Due: Tuesday, 06/16/2020 11:59 PM (CST)
Instructions
For this assignment, you will create a PowerPoint that demonstrates the concepts covered in this unit. Find and select images that apply/explain/identify various physical concepts that we have learned in this unit. Identify the concept that is being demonstrated in that image, and provide an explanation that relates the image to the concept. Your presentation must contain at least these concepts:

How impulse-momentum theorem relates to Newton’s second law.
The relationship between linear momentum conservation and Newton’s third law.
How momentum conservation is exemplified in various physical activities.
The difference between kinetic and potential energy.
The relation among work, energy and power in daily life.
Some other topics that may be included are impulse, elastic/inelastic collision, energy conservation, power, work, angular momentum conservation, torque, center of mass/gravity, and centripetal/centrifugal force, among others.

Your PowerPoint must be a minimum of 10 slides not including the title and reference slide. You are required to insert appropriate images and diagrams to enhance your content. In addition to the images, you must use at least two scholarly references in your presentation. Any images or information used should be cited in APA format. Also, it is a good idea to utilize presenter notes and provide narration, but this is not required.

Geoflicks are regular theatrical movies that are focused on geologic events, usually some type of disaster.  Some examples are: 2012, Volcano, Dantes Peak, The Core, and Jurassic Park.  This is a web page with a few more ideas: http://reelgeology.blogspot.com/ .  I’d prefer you select a move that deals with some kind of geohazards like an earthquake, tsunami, or volcano. The SciFi channel has tons of really good (bad) geoflicks, and you could probably write a novel on one of those.  Most geoflicks take great liberties with the basic science that forms the basis for the plot.  What I hope to see from this assignment is that you’ve learned enough to recognize where these movies drift from reality and move towards fiction.  This is where you get to show me that you can apply what you’ve learned in this class.  I also hope this will give you some self-confidence in your understanding of this subject.

Reviews should consist of between 750 and 1000 words.  Reviews will be submitted via the "Assignment" section (formally Dropbox) of BlazeVIEW.  Read the movie review guidelines that are posted in the "Class Documents" section of the "Content" area of BlazeVIEW.  Late reviews will be docked 10 points.

All movie reviews must include the following information at the top of the review:

1. The name of the film (geoflick)
2. Medium used to view the film (History Channel, DVD rental, Netflix, YouTube...)
3. Approximate length of film
4. Classmates who watched with you (this is absolutely OK, feel free to organize viewing parties)
5. Your star ranking for the film (out of a total possible 5 stars)

This review will be on a documentary video about thunderstorms and tornadoes that you watch at home. I want your personal opinion of the video. Use the knowledge that you have gained from your studies about hurricanes to construct a reasonable critique (pro or con is fine) of the video. Any documentary is fine as long as it is compatible with the theme of thunderstorms and tornadoes and is at least 30 minutes long. Reviews should consist of between 750 and 1000 words. You can watch documentaries on television, Netflix, YouTube, websites, or any other source that you can find. Feel free to be as creative as you like. Reviews will be submitted via the "Assignment" section (formally Dropbox) of BlazeVIEW. Read the movie review guidelines that are posted in the “Class Documents” section in the “Content” area in BlazeVIEW. Late reviews will be docked 10 points.

All movie reviews must include the following information at the top of the review:

1.  The name of documentary (first 6 reviews)
2.  Medium used to view film (History Channel, DVD rental, Netflix, YouTube…)
3.  Approximate length of film
4.  Classmates who watched with you (this is absolutely OK, feel free to organize viewing parties)
5.  Your star ranking for the film (out of a total possible 5 stars)

This is the 4 assignment required, please see first 3 assignments written. This will be part of a 8 assignment capstone project on the effects os deforestation of the Amazon. I have included a 4 document, an early outline but I am open to suggestions.

Part I
-Develop a full-sentence outline for your entire capstone project. Use at least three levels (I, A, 1)
-Use alphanumeric or any other format that Word offers to create your outline (provided you go at least to the third level) and write in complete sentences (not phrases and not paragraphs). The use of full sentences will help your mentor better understand what you have in mind, since phrases can be ambiguous or lack sufficient information or clarity●    --Outline should conclude with 5 to 7 sources in APA or MLA format with entries alphabetized. These sources should be academic in nature and indicative of a source that would be reliable and recognized, though it does not need to necessarily be peer-reviewed.

Part II
Narrative
In your narrative, define the scope of your research question, determine the key concepts, and relate your sources directly to the research question or key concepts.

- With your research question in mind, explain the scope of your project. The scope includes the specific goals of your project as well as the tasks that need to be completed in order to reach those goals related to your research question. After completely defining your project’s scope, defend the appropriateness of this scope for your project and why it is neither too broad nor too narrow.

- Determine the key concepts you must research, study, and analyze to move your project forward. Provide preliminary definitions of these key concepts and explain how they relate to your research question.

- Indicate the types of information sources (i.e. databases, journals, articles) that you have selected so far and will continue to seek. For each information source type, explain how it relates directly to your research question or the key concepts you have identified.

The narrative is intended to help the reader see how you have approached finding the required information to the resolution of your problem statement, research question, or continued development of your hypothesis or thesis statement. In an effort to expand your breadth of understanding of your topic,
