My philosophy of education is that rules will always change, and so I focus less on knowing the tax rules than on being aware of larger current events influencing society and the world of business.
One such current event is a Supreme Court decision called Wayfair, named after a dispute between a state and the internet company Wayfair, which sells furniture. Although technically this topic does not belong in our course, which focuses on personal income taxes, this is an important current event that you should know about as an educated person.
Please read the attached Wall Street Journal editorial (August 12, 2019), and answer the following questions. Please feel free to supplement it with your own research, but please cite and reference your sources properly.
1. Your Dad asks you: What is Wayfair, a furniture retailer or a tax rule? Please answer in 50 words (you are addressing your Dad, who works as a school-teacher, not your accountant-boss).
2. Do you agree with the Wayfair decision? Why or why not? You do not need to agree with the Wall Street Journal, which is a “pro-business” newspaper.

* Explain what role ethics plays in communications.
* Summarize three or more of the ethical decision-making models presented in the introduction of Media Ethics. The models presented include the following:
* 1A: Aristotle's Mean
* 1B: Confucius's Golden Mean
* 2A: Kant's Categorical Imperative
* 2B: Islam's Divine Commands
* 3: Mill's Principle of Utility
* 4: Rawls's Veil of Ignorance
* 5A: Judeo-Christian Persons as Ends
*
* Identify one of the models you summarized and explain why you think it is better than the other two. You may want to define what you mean by better; for example, a better model might be one of the following:
* One that is easiest for a majority of people to follow
* One that you think most often leads to morally sound decisions
* One that is most capable of handling tough moral dilemmas
* One that allows you, personally, to make effective moral decisions
* Describe a communications-related ethical problem and explain how you would apply your preferred model to address it. To strengthen your argument, you may wish to treat this portion of your paper as additional evidence for why your preferred model is better than the other two. If you can show how your preferred model leads to a better ethical decision for this particular problem, you will have made a stronger case for why it is better.

As part of CapraTek's human resources team, you have been asked to research other employers and their Internet recruiting practices. This assessment has two parts:
1.Evaluate two employers' online application processes.
2.Evaluate two general online job search sites for ease of use and information available.
Requirements
Part 1: Identify two employers whose Web sites permit candidates to apply for positions online. You may choose any employer but preferably ones you might work for. Select only employers that allow online applications.
-Evaluate the user-friendliness of the application process and the value of the general job information found online. Consider whether the posted job information provides candidates with what they would want to know regarding the organization and address the following:
-Articulate the user-friendliness of the Web sites.
-Compare the quality of the job information for each Web site from an employer's point-of-view.
Part 2: Select two general job search Web sites (such as CareerBuilder, Indeed, SimplyHired, Monster). You may choose local or specific job sites. Look at the ease of use and the value of the general information provided on these Web sites.
-Articulate the user-friendliness of these Web sites. Would you use them to search for a job? Why or why not?
-Compare the quality of the job information for each Web site from an employer's point-of-view.
-Summarize findings for or against CapraTek using these selected Web sites for posting positions and searching for applicants.
