Paper Instructions:
The purpose of the paper is to explore the lifespan through a case study of a person who is at least 60 years old. A case study is a type of qualitative research design that look in depth at a specific person or situation.  The purpose of this assignment is to learn this person's story of their development process throughout their entire lifespan. You will be doing so through the three major aspects of development, physical (biological), cognitive, and socioemotional.  You must also link the person's story to the theories of developmental psychology that you have studied throughout the course. This project is not something that can be started one week before it is due. You should select your participant in the early stages of the class and should be working on the assignment by at least the beginning of Module 5. An interview, or more likely, a series of interviews with your participant will be required to collect the depth of information needed to complete this assignment. Once the data is collected, you will write the story of this person's life from a developmental psychology perspective. What were the physical, cognitive, and socioemotional developmental aspects of this person's life? These should be thoroughly explored. You are telling this person's life story in terms of how they developed. The other equally important aspect of this assignment is to connect this story to the theories and milestones of development that you have been studying during this class. The best way to achieve both of these requirements is to integrate the developmental theories into the story. For example, you might want to discuss Piaget's formal operational stage when you are looking at your participant's adolescent years. The story aspect and the theoretical aspect are worth the same number of points, so your paper length should be close to evenly divided between these two aspects.

The paper should be a minimum of 8 but not more than 9 pages and should be completed using APA format. You must use a minimum of five scholarly references as part of completing this paper. This assignment is worth 200 points.

Observation of Social Behavior

Conduct an observation of human social behavior in a public place (i.e., supermarket, church, nightclub) but not in a private area (i.e., bathroom, bedroom). Specific references should be made in the observation to principles discussed in class. These may include: altruism, attraction, conformity, gender, group influence, persuasion and/or prejudice.

Project Components

Title page: On your title page, in addition to your name, e-mail address, course title and number, and title of your observation, name the site of the observation.
Goals: In this section, list two to three goals for your observation. You might want to view social behaviors between genders; examine social behaviors among ethnic/racial groups; or determine age related social behaviors in a group. Useful terms include investigate, discover, reveal.  (one page max).
Research question: For this observation , you must have a specific question or set of questions that you are trying to answer. You might explore, for example, whether participants in your setting have any characteristic behaviors which are observable. In this section, state the question you are trying to answer. Your question must be detailed and specific. For example, are there distinguishable behaviors that lead a man to ask a woman to dance in a bar setting? What are the specific behaviors of people who are paying attention in church? Do older people influence the behavior of younger people? Please state your research questions clearly at the beginning of your discussion.
Populations: Are there specific typologies that can be formed based on the social behaviors observed? For example, “Cautious Carl” is the driver who has both hands on the wheel, drives no faster than the speed limit, and maintains a serious look on his face. “Smiling Samantha” is the woman who talks to all the people she passes in the supermarket aisle.
Introduction (the setting): In this section, discuss the setting in which your observation will occur. Include sufficient detail so that it is clear how the setting might have affected behaviors discussed throughout the paper.
Observational sessions: In this section, detail the behaviors which occurred during your observation. You should have between 1 to 3 sessions in your setting.
Abstracts: Locate five abstracts from social psychological literature relating to your observation. Use the abstracts to explain how the research applies to your observation.  You may embed the abstracts as part of your discussion or simply present each single-spaced abstract paragraph individually, then discuss its relevance to your observation.  Note that the abstract itself on a separate page does not count toward the required page length.  However, you may include the single-spaced abstract on the same page of your respective discussion.  As with all abstracts, it should not exceed a paragraph in length.
Results: In this section, state the results you observed related to your research question. Also, explain why you drew the conclusions you drew based on the behaviors. Include theories from social psychology that point to these results. Discuss the influence of your own experiences on your observation results.
References: In this section, list the references you quoted in your paper, including books, articles, and websites that you used in your observations.  Make sure to include your selected abstracts in your reference list.
Page length:  Paper should be 8-10 pages, double-spaced (with the exception of the single-spaced abstract), with 12-pt font.  Format should in be in APA style, including citations and references.
File type: Submit your assignment in either Word or pdf format.  Any file that is not accessible will result in a zero grade.

This is the third part of a research paper. I will upload the previous two parts as attachments. you will need to use them to write this paper as they are all going to be combined into the same paper at the end of the semester. there is no page minimum/maximum on this paper so i just put 5, but the paper should be well written and detailed. here are the directions for the current step:

A literature review is a critical summary of published scholarly research on a particular topic. Completing a literature review helps you become familiar with current thinking on a topic; by demonstrating this familiarity, you enable readers to understand the topic being investigated.

Instructions
In preparation for writing your literature review, please give careful attention to the way in which you will organize your sources. Your literature review must contain at least 10 credible sources with appropriate citations in APA or MLA format (depending on your discipline). As you organize and synthesize your information, use citations and references appropriately. In all cases, remain true to the context of your sources, taking care not to misrepresent or quote out of context. This assignment must contain the following sections.

Introduction (Connection to Discipline and Explanation of the Issues)
Explain the issues and make a connection to your discipline. Introduce the topic with reference to your thesis or main question in the opening paragraph.

Describe the issue or problem clearly and with enough relevant information that your reader will fully understand it. Make connections between your topic and important theories/facts/examples from your discipline or area of study (e.g., psychology, history). The purpose of the literature review is not to answer your questions but to situate your topic within the wider literature on the subject matter.
Source Finding Analysis (Accessing Information and Evaluating Sources)
What databases did you use to find potential sources and why? (Reminder: Google and other search engines are not databases. Use the New Jersey State Library database resources.) What key word searches did you use, and which were most effective? What database or key word did you exclude from your search, and why? How did you make sure that your information sources were highly relevant?
Explain how you evaluated and selected sources to use for this project. How do you know your selected sources are appropriate to your research question? How do you know you have chosen a variety of sources that are appropriate for the scope of your project?
How did you make sure that you were fully complying with all ethical and legal restrictions on the use of published, confidential, and/or proprietary information?
Themes (Use Information Effectively to Accomplish a Specific Purpose)
Synthesize the information from your sources in order to help your reader fully understand your topic’s background and relevant issues. What main themes emerge in the literature on this topic? What do different sources have to say about these themes? What patterns, differences, or similarities emerge from the sources? What significant scholarly disagreements have you noticed? Provide your reader with a sufficient breadth of the topic under your themes or means of organizing your sources so that the reader can be aware of and acquainted with the topic’s background and relevant issues. Be sure to situate the topic within a larger context and draw out themes and key ideas.
Curiosity (Sources and Evidence)
What information have you found that illustrates both your interest and rich awareness of your topic? Why is this information so interesting? What ideas are you developing that are appropriate for your discipline?
Conclusion (Summary)
Finally, after you have completed the body of your review, provide a paragraph summary. What have you learned thus far?

Keep in mind, the literature review is not an extended annotated bibliography whereby you list each source you have read and provide a brief synopsis of it. Rather, the literature review is a running narrative that develops the background and context for your topic. Finally, additional research should continue to be done throughout the course until the final submission of the capstone project (which must include at least 15 sources in the final bibliography).

To prepare for Part 1 of the Discussion, consider educational leaders in your field that you know. Think about how the educational leaders you know exemplify or do not exemplify the concepts related to leading positive social change. What did the leaders do well or not do well, especially as they relate to initiating change? In addition, identify one scholarly resource on change leadership related to your post to share with your colleagues in the Discussion.

For Part 1 of the Discussion, post a description of the characteristics of an effective leader of change, providing specific examples from your own experience with leaders. Explain why leaders need to have these particular characteristics to be effective in initiating change. Be sure to include a reference to the scholarly resource you identified on change leadership, and explain how the reference relates to your post.

Be careful not to identify anyone by name. The emphasis in the assignment is not the individuals themselves, only in how you perceive their leadership skills and approaches.
