Readmittance to WNE University

I am a student of the Western New England University for all my past higher academic years until last semester. The school is a good place to be where since the first day of admission into the school there is all round learning and character modification of its students. This has made many, I included to so much love the institution and attach much value of their life as creditors of the school’s doing. To me, being reinstated to WNE would mean the world to grab a chance on carry on with my academic career, Engineering.

Since my departure from the university I have been working in my father’s store which deals in mechanical tools and other spare parts of machines. It was a good place where implementation of some units we had already covered in school applied practically. The work I have been doing will be effective to my stay in the school where it has helped me learn how much importance is attached to practical working by the small units that mostly students take lightly. I would like attach a different angle of seriousness to all units and practically apply them in my daily living to perfect them. Alongside working at my father’s store I tried taking a calculus 2 in Saudi Arabia where I did not find a college offering a course on last spring in the country.

This still makes it meaningful for me to come back to the school and pursue it there. There is much more that the University offers to students which is beyond having them educated professionally but also socially and even how to handle issues of life at all levels (Carolyn, 234). Furthermore the quality of education he school offers is far much excellent and its grandaunts are marketable in the field making it all round a perfect place to be readmitted.

Deviance labelling experience

Most people have had an experienced where they have been labelled as deviant at some point in their life.  Some of these labels attached can become dominant status for the individual thereby overshadowing all other personal aspects. My own experience happened when I was about 11 years of age. Together with a few friends from our neighbourhood who used very mischievous especially at school, we would play soccer together. At that time there was a big store at the neighbourhood where people would do most of their shopping. It started raining heavily and we took cover in inside the store with other people from around, since it was the nearest building around. It rained for a long time and we became very hungry. While none was watching we sneaked inside and stole some food staffs and started eating while hiding. I was unlucky to be caught alone while others managed to sneak out of the stores. I was showed up in front of all the other people which was very embarrassing. From that moment I was labelled the stealing boy and my parents punished me for it.

The above case can be termed as primary defiance. Primary defiance consist of occasionally breaking what is believed to be the norm by the society but does not involve a self –concept or part of an individual lifestyle. Secondary deviance involves the life of an individual and their identity which revolve around breaking the norms of the society. Retrospective labelling results from the deviance which someone is associated with and leads to stigma which makes the deviant to be socially unacceptable (Krieken, 368). By being labelled a stealing boy after the minor crime may have resulted to secondary deviance due to stigma I was exposed to in our neighbourhood.

Evidence Based Practice

Evidence based practice is defined as thorough, clear, and careful use of existing evidence in patients’ care decision making (Melnyk & Fineout-Overholt, 2011). Evidence based practice helps to integrate best available evidence that can guide nursing care and create improvement in patient outcomes.

How evidence based practice is used in a practice setting

Evidence based practice involves clinicians undertaking to stay in connection with the research literature and using it in their decision making. It also involves weighing the value in every section of the research evidence including clinical data and the choice of the client. This implies, there is a need to know what is stated in the research, share the knowledge with the clients in unbiased manner, and allow those clients to make decisions about care basing on the evaluation (Houser & Oman, 2011). Evidence based practice is being used in a practice setting using the following procedure.  The first step is formulation of a clinical question from the care of the patient. After formulating the questions, appropriate resources are selected to conduct a search. The literature is read and criticized. Recommendations are made for a day to day practice basing on the available literature. Subsequently, the recommendations are implemented, documented and analysis of changes and outcomes of the intervention. In the implementation of the recommendations, research is applied to the clinical setting and the client. The client and the service provider are included in the implementation process (Houser & Oman, 2011). The results of the evidence based practice are finally shared with others through by writing them up. The purpose of EBP is to incorporate a clinical expertise, scientific evidence, and caregiver values in provision of high quality services.

Shashi Tharoor on "Soft Power"

Shashi Tharoor talks broadly about India approach towards being a soft power country in the world. Soft power in this context means the ability of India to attract other countries through cultural and economic influence. India seems to be determined to achieve the soft power strategy to its fullest which is witnessed by the way it treats foreigners who may wish to visit the country. For instance, India has cherished its overseas popularity in TV soap operas as well as its IT industry which hold the country’s culture (Tharoor, 2009).

The democracy of India has silently been boosting the soft power quality which has thrived the free media, the human rights groups, and the remarkable general elections which are leadership traits that are very rare to find within the structures of most developing countries. Tharoor also adds that India is currently enjoying the soft power which has grown naturally through the transformation of its image enabled by the members of Diaspora. All these advancements have put India at a potential position of becoming the next superpower (Tharoor, 2009).

In the information age, India is connected to the world with its headquarters situated at Mumbai. With Tata communication owning 3 land stations at this depot, connectivity through the internet and social media communication network has greatly expanded (Christakis & Fowler, 2011). For instance, India connects to Malaysia through a variety of cultural and historical ties. Through communication and information technology, India has excelled in education, research and economic sectors which are the strongholds of the country’s economy. However, the connectivity is still under development with many plans laid out to expand the information and communication networks. It is however less connected than Bangladesh (Christakis & Fowler, 2011).

Methods for evaluation practice with multiple case designs

Multiple case designs are the methodologies used by students and researchers to study cases that they are unfamiliar with due to the misunderstanding that revolves around the case. This forms a qualitative research using professional tactics and evidenced based decisions to enable one to gain a holistic view in order to help in capturing useful information that has emergent and immanent properties due to its unstable condition that changes rapidly (Sheḳedi, 2005). By using multiple designs a case study allows generalization of the findings which at times leads to replication when they are not strictly related to one another.

Typology is a method used in multiple case studies that classifies information as a general type. This information relates especially to psychology, archaeology, and social science (Sheḳedi, 2005). This method is employed exploratory which aims at providing information in order to gain new knowledge which will facilitate an easier understanding of the problem.

An intrinsic approach is used in evaluating multiple case designs whereby researchers are required to have a general interest in the case so that they will be able to understand the case better. The approach is not taken primarily because the case is of interest and represents other cases whereby a particular trait is illustrated. The purpose of the approach is not to help in understanding the case but the generic phenomenon of the case (Sheḳedi, 2005).

An instrumental approach is used in order to provide insightful information that assists in refining the case. This approach is used in a case where there is secondary interest in order to provide a supportive role and facilitate understanding at the same time. With this approach, the case is looked at in depth due to the content scrutiny that helps in pursuit of external interest (Sheḳedi, 2005).

The individual and the pattern of culture

There are various commonly used explanation devices that have tried to explain and explore the concept of culture and all the ideas behind the race and environment with respect to human life. Benedict has penned down her thoughts in the book Patterns of Culture whose primary message revolves around the paramount importance of a learnt behavior in the existence of human beings. Concerning the issue of race, Benedict is very clear that all the items that build up culture such as the language, the social organization religion and other practices attached to culture are not in any way dependent on the germ cell of a man which indicates that culture is not connected to race under the idea of biological determinism (Benedict 12). From another angle of interpretation, Benedict also asserts that the human behavior which makes up the culture is founded upon the hints that are presented by the adjacent environment which are directly attached by physical necessities of the human beings. This brings the sense that the human behavior is patterned and that the patterns are usually learned.

As many scholars do, I would agree that configurations are seen to very important to the Benedict’s assertions but the most important that readers must recognize is that the idea of patterns is not the supposed the core idea as she has carefully crafted it. This is because Benedict has left a number of signposts for the reads whereby the discussions she initiates usually become very difficult to discern. First, Benedict rules out the concept of social thinking in the account of cultural relativity (Benedict 113). This should not be the case because various people have proved to think critically and don’t usually consider their patterns to rhyme with the normal beliefs such as faith, and the environmental and physical response.

Ruth Benedict has also presented the issue of race with relation to the concept of culture. From the assertion of Benedict, no aspect of culture is carried in the germ-cell of a person. This assertion implies that all the social organizations, language and religion are not attached to which race one belongs to because culture is a pattern (Benedict 114). In contrast to this claim made, it is evident that race is cultural identity. For instance, the Negros in the United States despite being in the culture of the whites, their identity still remained. Biological determinism is a great contributor to culture because even if people from different races may mix and observe a similar pattern of culture, the race identity still withholds some practices which are not in line with their biological determinism.

With this regard, the conclusion Benedict makes that culture is not transmitted biologically is not true because as much as a person who comes from a different race mingles and socializes with a dominant different race, some of the cultural practices he or she upholds may not be eroded. This is purely supported by the fact that social thinking ruled out by Benedict is still at work. On the same issue of race, it is evident that slavery was purely based on race. Despite much interactions with the dominate races, social transmission of culture could not transform the slavery and racism because the biological boundaries were the hindrance.

In addition, respect to other cultures is a consideration which Benedict misses out. This is because her assertions continue to hold that culture is developed from daily patterns of the environment. For instance, a man from the Middle East has a right to marry more than one wife as long as he is able to sustain them (Benedict 117). When the same person relocates to cultures which only allow monogamous marriages, social transmission or influence should not substitute the beliefs of the immigrant.

Issues such as human sacrifice and cannibalism have been accepted in various cultures despite being surrounded or being in the midst of those who oppose the practice. It is right in their own eyes despite being wrong in others’. From this argument, it therefore, impossible to stay or view the society from a value-neutral perspective. In support of this argument, relativism argues that different cultures are bound to consider different parameters of determining what is true and what is not. This implies that there is no absolute truth. Some cultures consider the acts of female mutilation as a value while others consider it to be torture. Values cannot be disapproved by facts because there is no common boundary across which they can be measured. Viewing the society from a neutral-value perspective is therefore impossible (Benedict 120).

In conclusion, Benedict has oversimplified the concepts of culture by concluding that it is a pattern. From her assertion that culture is not dependent on race, I would contrast the claim by arguing that culture is not only dependent on social influence but also biological determinism or race. Human behavior is beyond the cultural patterns because social thinking triggers the notion. Different values are interpreted differently and hence the issue of viewing them from a neutral-value perception is impossible.

Weapons of Mass Destruction

Q1

A bludgeon of mass demolition can be defined as a nuclear, radiological, compound, natural or any other kind of mace that can kill and cause a huge harm to many people and cause them a huge damage to human made constructions such as buildings or the biosphere.  They can also be defined as weapons that may produce shocking outcomes when set free in a single strike (Busch & Joyner, 2009).

Q2

According to the sanctions that were against the foreigners which were executed under order EO 12938, President Clinton declared a state emergency based on the increase of the nuclear, natural and compound weapons and many ways of delivering them.  The executive order 12938 forbids the importation of goods, knowledge or the services that were innovated or given by the foreigners in that the state secretary had resolute to impose an importation denial due to their weapons of mass destruction increased activities. The executive order had been adjusted twice with the aim of making it more effective as it would fight the spread of alternative weapons. President Obama later founded the increased spread of chemical, nuclear and natural weapons as a national urgent situation (Busch & Joyner, 2009).

Q3

Counter proliferation is the diplomatic, intelligence and the military efforts to fight the increase of weapons such as the weapons used for the mass destruction. In contrast, the weapons of mass destruction focused on the political, legal and the administrative measures.  It can be referred to as a main control which would eradicate the conflict between two nations thus preventing the arming of one nation against the other. This helped in the provision of cushion of time before the infinitesimal bomb.  The counter proliferation focused on the intelligence, law enforcement and sometimes the military in action thus preventing the possession (Schreier, 2009).

Q4

The main strategy for the countering weapons of mass destruction such as their use and more increase is an essential component of the national security of the United States.  As done on the war of terrorism, the American plan of the home security and the new approach of deterrence, the American concept to fight the WMD replicates a huge amendment from the past. Thus to succeed on this, the state must take the current chances such as the use of the new technologies and increased focus on the intelligence (Schreier, 2009).

Weapons of mass destruction could make it able for the opponents to impose huge harm on the United States where the military forces associates. Military weapons are intended to overcome the American advantages in the conservative forces and to restrict them from responding to violence against the friends and the partners in the region of vital interest.  Moreover, terrorists are looking to have WMD with the stated need of killing a large number of people without any compunction or warning.

The American government has decided not to allow the most dangerous terrorists to threaten the world with the most critical weapons. Thus they are having the highest degree main concern to protect the States, the forces and the partners from the existing and ongoing WMD threat (Schreier, 2009).

Q5

The WMD pose a threat to the United States as they have occupied the center of politics globally. They have the possibility of a huge destruction and the random nature against the civilians. While the murder of humans is not a new factor of warfare, the weapons that are for mass destruction pose challenges to the peace and security of the Americans.  These increased threats and increase stockpiles of WMD problems are caused by the wide spread of WMD and some connected innovations to some countries, black market sales of weapons and related modernization (Busch & Joyner, 2009).

            Sports coaching

            Question 1

Action learning can be described as a method of solving real issues which involve developing and implementing actions as well as reflecting upon the expected results and generated results.  This helps in improving the issue solving procedure and the developed solutions by the particular team (Hemmings, & Holder, 2009).  The procedure of action learning involves  the actual issue that is important, complex and usually critical,  a diverged team that is developed to solve  the issue,  a procedure that generated, inquiry,  curiosity as well as reflection,  necessitate  that requires the conversation of a talk  into the actual action and the ultimate solution and a learning commitment.

Learning action can be utilized in consultancy function within a sport in the provision of distinct forms of developing thoughts as well as working within a particular context (Hemmings, & Holder, 2009).  This is by promoting the importance of understanding an issue and developing solutions. This is can thus be achieved by the utilization of knowledge in generating greater work collaboration as well as delivering good performance.  In an ongoing sports consultancy, learning action may help to assess cognitive and physical strengths and weakness of each individual in the team.  This helps in establishing where the  team stands based on cognitive and physical capabilities,  what  they need to perform in order to  develop their  mental strategy in should and things to eliminate (Hemmings, & Holder, 2009).

Additionally learning action would ensure that the consultancy works towards enabling individuals in developing better relationships among themselves. This is mainly because in developing appropriate solutions to the existing challenges solid relationships while working are highly required which important individuals to offer support.  Moreover learning action would help the sports consultant in understanding individuals learning needs, skills, styles and how their communication can be developed.  Therefore learning action would help an ongoing consultancy in developing mental readiness. This is therefore achieved through the generated motivation within the team as the consultancy process works to ensure that a learning understanding is developed (Hemmings, & Holder, 2009).

            Question 2

Self-awareness helps in improving and developing individual’s power for judgment as it helps individuals in establishing opportunities for professional improvement and individual growth.  Individuals do not normally transform their needs, personalities as well as values based on the things we acquire about ourselves (Hemmings, & Holder, 2009).  However, self-awareness may assist in establishing situations where thriving can be achieved thus avoiding events that may generate stress.  This, therefore, implies that self-awareness, as well as the awareness of other individuals, helps in changing the psychological needs of which drives individual behaviors.

Additionally self and the awareness of others helps in reducing the occurrences of conflict.  While working conflict cannot be avoided as it is part of individual’s interaction impacts. Conflicts occur because individuals hold different aims as well as requirements which may often clash.  The existence of conflict is a good thing as long as it is solved effectively (Hemmings, & Holder, 2009).  Awareness creation helps in increasing individuals understanding, creates better cohesion in a group, improves self-knowledge and reduces the occurrences of conflict.  The process of conflict resolutions helps in the development of knowledge as it provides individuals with the insight of achieving goals without undermining ideas developed by others.  This helps in the development of better mutual respect as effective issues solving help in renewing faith thus developing the capability of working as a team.  Challenges and conflict pressures individuals to examine their aims as well as expectations closely, assisting them in gaining a greater understanding of things which are most significant (Hemmings, & Holder, 2009).  This, therefore, helps in sharpening individuals focus as well as enhancing individual’s effectiveness.

            Question 3

A competitive knowledge window aims at capitalizing on the efforts of identification of knowledge gaps in order to supplement the results of the process through an analysis procedure as well as the process of transportation (Hemmings, & Holder, 2009).  This helps in the provision of knowledge in the provision of fresh knowledge. This is an insight process of management which assists in generating adequate knowledge.  A competitive window of knowledge is useful in demonstrating the significance of the ability to utilize concepts that are developed from wider sections of psychology which assist in developing performance. This helps in sections such as shared making of decisions as well as collective identity.  This, therefore, helps in ensuring the mindset of individuals which is created explicitly.  The activity helps in building a foundation for learning in a competition as individuals learns to take ownership of the effective thoughts development tool that is simplified and effective (Hemmings, & Holder, 2009).

A newly formed team would benefit more from the performance needs and the performance strategies will be developed from the initial stage. This is unlike an established group as it holds developed goals with planned directions to achieve the goals (Hemmings, & Holder, 2009).  This would thus be challenging to change the strategies that the established group utilizes.  Additionally changing the thinking f individuals who have a working approach would not be an easy task.  A fresh team would be easy to influence as competition has not yet been established as well as individuals capabilities have not been exploited fully.  A competitive window of knowledge would, therefore, ensure that the fresh team individuals are trained based on the competitive strategy. This involves the provision of knowledge as well as training.  In developing cognitive capabilities of individual’s people holds better understanding (Hemmings, & Holder, 2009).   This helps in developing understanding, better and competitive relationships as well as knowledge development.  Better relations for a freshly formed team would work to ensure that the occurrence of conflict is reduced. This is because the developed understanding will help in ensuring that better relations are maintained.  A fresh team holds more possibility of appreciating the impacts of better understanding within themselves than an established one.

            Question 4

Bettering athletes, as well as caches, does not necessarily imply that training must be achieved in a hard way.  This mean that the entire component that makes an effective and efficient coach and athlete are addressed both physically and mentally (Hemmings, & Holder, 2009).   Psychologists can help coaches and athletes in personalizing activities in bettering performance. This is mainly because individuals cannot get involved in competition when their heads are empty.  Mental skills, conditioning and training programs must therefore be involved in this process. This helps in enabling and developing strategies that will help in preparing to get into a competition with an appropriate and adequate set of mind.  Psychologists should, therefore, focus on transforming the thinking of individuals towards the general performance as well as competition. This can thus be achieved through changing individual’s expectation and judgment towards others (Hemmings, & Holder, 2009).

Psychologists can help coaches in understanding the various modes that can be utilized in assessing individual capabilities.   This is by determining the psychological traits and skills that each athlete holds which can thus be utilized in developing better physical performance (Hemmings, & Holder, 2009).  This is mainly because most of the coaches are mainly focused on physical skills thus forgetting that mental skills are additionally important in developing performance.  This, therefore, makes it crucial in integrating both cognitive and physical performance aspect.  Nonperformance is normally attributed by athletes and coaches to the mental performance aspect such as the failure to focus and the inability to hold a competition.  However, the negative impacts are mainly associated with inadequate psychological preparation approaches (Hemmings, & Holder, 2009).  Psychologists can thus help in setting individual mindset as when a coach or an athlete loses motivation the transformation is mainly generated by mental and emotional aspects.  Psychological regulation fluctuation can assist in preventing and developing skills of cognitive.  This additionally helps in developing strategies which help in managing stress, anxiety, negative thinking as well as emotions.  In other words, this means that the psychologists should work to help the coaches and athletes in developing the capability of coping with negative incentives within the team and also from the real world (Hemmings, & Holder, 2009).

            Question 5

Several mental skills are necessarily for psychologists who work within influential teams.  The psychologist should hold the capability of setting relevant goals for his clients that are based on their abilities, the capability to develop solutions based on the clients weaknesses, utilize both visual and imagery in working on the gaining skills, focus attention and concentration, develop strategies in managing stress and well as hold greater capability in building individuals self-confidence (Hemmings, & Holder, 2009).

Self-confidence can be described as the realistic expectations that individuals holding in regard to achieving success. This is therefore not the actual goals that the athletes and coaches hope to attain but it is a rather realistic expectation of what requires being accomplished. The psychologist must, therefore, be able to encourage beneficial self-talks (Hemmings, & Holder, 2009).  The psychologist is expected to deemphasize impacts as well as help individual players and coaches to focus primarily on improvements of excellence and performance.  In fostering self-confidence, the psychologist should focus on setting positive examples.  This is by helping individuals to develop their competencies and skills through the utilization of frequent statements that are rewarding.   Despite the ranges of drawbacks, the psychologists should work to ensure negative thoughts as we’ll as low expectations are eliminated. This is by encouraging coaches and athletes to maintain higher prospects and positive thinking which result in reduced pressure and issues thus increasing performance (Hemmings, & Holder, 2009).  The psychologists should, therefore, be creative and develop solutions to every situation created in order to achieve the developed objectives.  Additionally, he should be able to develop goals that are measurable and realistic and they should be flexible to permit changes and skills development.

Self-evaluation

Evaluation is the most effective way for an improvement. Whereby from handbook of speaking, it states that self-evaluation can improve the quality of our speech significantly. Thus the purpose of this easy is to evaluate myself in the six categories of speaking, which are; introduction, structure, audience centered content, collusion, and citations. Those categories can be understood as the critical point of every aspect of speaking. Therefore, I am being able to learn and improved my speech by using the perspective of an audience who watch your speech.

During the introduction, there are 5 main points. My attention- catching statement wasn't that successful because i went through it too quickly. As an audience of coms 130, I feel my attention- catching statement was weak if I just analyzed two of the key words of my speech, which are “film” and “visual reality”. The speaker credibility also wasn’t established that well since I didn’t present any of credible statement. My relevance was simple and but not that efficient, because of my week attention- catching statement. Also since my audience group is between 18-30 years, I believe most of them know what is a film and VR, which also makes my relevance and attention gather to be weak. However, it was pretty relevance since I briefly example this two key words. In 34-36 second I this I have establish my thesis pretty clear after I example the relevance between film and VR. However, the thesis has been caught to close from the relevance so I believe some audience might be confused about whether it is a thesis statement or a relevance. In the preview that I establish in 48 second I believe it was pretty clear and attractive, where I have use a strategically figure of speech. For example the word “production” and “perception” can be understood as alliteration strategy and that makes it attractive as a preview. In overall, the time length of my introduction is pretty good which was less than a minutes but there are still component the worth for further development.

The organization of my entire speech has a topical division where I have organized the speech in such a way that it has the main topic with some sub-topics and several examples that make the audience to understand what I am talking about. I have analyzed my thesis in three main point; production, perception, and people’s responses. Those three points are 3 different perceptive that supports my thesis statement. My identifiable of main point are pretty clear, since during the 48 second. I have used both of my power point and alliteration strategy to present my three main points. The transection it the weak part of my speech. According to my speech, I presented a weak transection since I barely have a good summary of my previous idea and thus enabling me to exchange and introduce my new idea. The speech is divided chronologically as I have a time sequence where time is an important factor in my speech as it enabled me to be brief but then straight to the point.  This ensured that I did not spend much time on one point. In developing my ideas I have widely used statements that enable the audience to know the kind of idea that I want to put across. After introduction of my ideas that’s when I now support all my ideas and I give one example per each main idea that helps to relate to the idea that I am supporting. However, after supporting my ideas I have not been able to finalize my ideas well as I fail to summarize my ideas with a small conclusion part.

Audience is an important component in any speech hence in making a speech one has to ensure that they are audible enough and exchange of information is effective. In my case, I have greatly been able to develop my ideas using evidences that enabled the audience to follow me to the end of the speech.

Using of some of the reality examples that act as evidence such as in the 2.20 minutes, the giving of the example of blood from the actor in an action film is usually viewed through a VR is quite a relevant example as well as evidence and this makes it more interesting for the audience to follow keenly as they can relate well to it. The same example is relatively informative as it informs the audience on the facts about the uses of VR. These kinds of examples that i used are quite appropriate and relevant to the audience as it enables them to be more informed about VR. However, my English language is not eloquent which made it even harder for the audience to really get what I was saying. I was not that fluent in English and I would stammer at some point thus making me even more anxious. For instance in the1.40 minutes, I stammered. I also was not audible enough and that made my audience especially those at the back to have problem in hearing what I was saying. I really was effective in exchanging my information and it was more of informative rather than persuasive.

Listening to my speech I have learnt so much from it as it has enabled me to identify some of the strong qualities in communicating my information and the weak qualities that I need to work on. I have learnt on the important components of speech making which makes a speech effective. Introduction according to me is one of the important components that enable one to introduce whatever he/she is talking about. It is the introduction part that determines the attyitude3 of the audience as they are looking forward to listening to your entire speech. I have also learnt that proper designing of the speech and incorporation with a presentation I quite important in making an effective speech.

This is where one strategically plans on the objectives of the speech and one organizes the speech basing on these objectives for instance if the objective is to inform one will organizing the speech in such a way that it informs rather than persuading.

I have also learnt that as one establishes the objectives, it is also important to prepare evidences that support each objective and visual aids are also relevant in making the information clearer as it emphasizes more and illustrates the ideas in a far better way than words. While establishing the objectives I have learnt that it is quite significant to establish them basing on the audience needs as well as expectations which must be met within the relaying of the speech. I have also learnt that the use of gestures is important while giving out a speech this involves the use of hands and body language that enables in relaying the information to the audience and this as well enables one to relax while giving out the speech.

Some of my strengths as identified from the speech are the organizational development that enables me to organize all my ideas in a proper way hence ensuring that my speech is effective. Strength is the fact that I effectively develop my ideas by designing the important topics and supporting those ideas with relevant examples that informs the audience efficiently.  However, I have some weaknesses that I have to work on to ensure that my speeches are better and effective.  Audibility is one of weakness and this makes it difficult for the audience to hear what I am saying and this may result to me losing them. Therefore I have to work on my audibility and ensure that I am audible enough so that every audience may benefit from my speech. Transecting is another weakness as I fail to use words that are connectors that may enable the exchange of information effectively. This therefore results to hanging ideas and this may result to failure in achieving the objectives of the speech.

Lack of eye to eye contact is another weakness that affects my public speech as it is important to keep an eye contact with the audience. I have engaged in giving more speeches to several groups that will enhance me to continually improve on my weaknesses. Giving out of public speech will enhance me even when I will be a manager in future as I will be able to give out speech to in meetings with directors and to employees.

Victim and Suspect Typologies Scenario

            Response 1

The fact that the victim knew the suspect from the work place where most of the victims identified their suspect as an acquaintance made the victim a typical victim. We cannot say that the victim is at fault because if we do that we would be setting free the suspect. However, in this case, has to somehow expect blame since she put herself in the situation. This is because she mixed drugs and alcohol and also stole and trusted in a stranger made her a part to blame since the probability of the expected outcome is from good to bad. The cost of victimization that the victim suffered was pain as well as misery after being hit by the suspect in the face basing on the severity of the attack at that time.

            Response 2

The suspect does not fit in all the trends however she does fit some trends such as drug abuse violations as he is found to have weed in his apartment. She also violated the liquor law as she is underage and according to the law he is not supposed to consume alcohol. She is also on the wrong side of the law as her disorderly conduct an assault for striking the victim. According to the suspect he could have been the victim himself in the property crime. It is true to say that the victim’s education has a reflection of his social class, her residence area and the experience to delinquent opportunity that exposes her to crime. This shows that an opportunity to commit crime is quite at a higher rate in the lower class individuals. There are a couple of ways that the suspect seems not to fit in certain trends such as the issue on drunkenness from the time when it was not stated that he was not drunk to the theft case of the victim  taking weed of the suspect without his permission.

Milestone Three

Before carrying out any research, setting of hypothesis as a researcher is paramount to the research process. This is because it predicts about the correlation between the variable within the research as it bases its predictions on the expected outcome of the research results. Therefore in this paper there are two types of hypothesis that has been set up, to aid in carrying out the research so as to get the end result.

The null hypothesis (H0): “there is no relationship between age that children start crawling and the temperature after six weeks of birth” (Benson 1993). This prediction is basically dependent entirely on chances and probabilities and hence it requires statistical test so as to be proven whether it is right or wrong. The conclusion of this prediction will either be acceptance, nullification or rejection of the hypothesis. This will therefore involve the use of inferential statistics so as to analyze the distributed data of temperatures. Thus the researcher will infer the properties of the infant population hence being able to test the hypothesis so as to accept it reject or nullify it.

Alternative hypothesis (Ha): “higher degrees of temperature reduce the number of age weeks an infant starts to crawl” (Benson 1993). This hypothesis means that the researcher strongly believes that temperature variation is the main cause of the variation in the age weeks that the infants start to crawl. The hypothesis means that temperature is an element that affects the crawling age of infants, those that are exposed to higher temperature months after their six week crawl faster than those exposed to low temperatures of that month. Hence the results of this hypothesis are observed and a qualitative research is achieved.
